Anyone have recent good/bad experience with Alamo Vroom Vroom code?

Ah, yes, I have read the entire thread. Vroom is an agency that searches for good rental prices. Their code is no different, in reality, than using a Costco code or any other code.

If you have questions or are unsure about any code, my advice as a "Disney veteran" is don't use it. If you make a mock reservation using the code given here, it comes up as Vroom, Vroom, Vroom. I went to the Vroom, Vroom, Vroom site and that is the information I found for that code with Alamo. I am sorry if my trying to help has twisted your knickers. In the future, any questions you may have about Alamo, National or Enterprise will be ignored by me. Have a nice day.

Discounts applicable to the general public (US citizens) rarely include CDW. Rate "codes" which include CDW are typically available to international customers and employees of corporations (sometimes only on company business) which negotiated such a deal.

I've never seen anything from Vroom which suggests using that code directly on Alamo's website. The fact that the reservations says VROOM VROOM VROOM LIMITED without any employee only notation is ambiguous. I think Alamo would make it at lot easier to enforce terms if they confirmation specifically said who is exactly entitled to use the code.

I'd think if Vroom had such a "code" with Alamo, offering deep discounts and included CDW, they'd use that code when a customer makes a reservation on Vroom's site.

Organizations like COSTCO and AAA tell you what code to use if you want to take advantage of discounts available to their members.

And what did you think of my post, prior to yours, about why those terms and conditions do not apply to the CID? Do you still think the VroomVroomVroom code is no different than any other *public* code after my post immediately following your two-second internet search post?

I agree that everybody should follow your advice regarding not using a code a code unless they're sure you're entitled to use it.

But you did NOT find those Terms & Conditions for that CID. The terms simply don't match what you get when you use the CID; see my earlier posts.

Knickers are getting twisted because, by posting logically false information, you may be giving people a false impression that they are entitled to use the code when they are not and that using it on Alamo.com is no different than making a booking on VroomVroomVroom.com. (Pricing is MUCH higher on VroomVroomVroom.com and does not include insurance. But I repeat myself.)

Lewis, I never accessed the those screens. They are typically used by reservation agents, managers and phone agents. My gut tells me they must have more info as they can deny those codes (as people have mentioned here I have no personal knowledge of this, btw) to those ineligible to use them.

I believe I have stated more than once that if you don't know about the code or are not eligible to use the code DON'T USE THE CODE.
It appears only your knickers are getting twisted because you are not getting the answers you want. I told you I made a mock reservation with the code that another poster provided. It came up as VroomVroomVroom. I searched for that on the net (more than 2 seconds this time.) Often if you go to the site, it will be more expensive than booking on the rental site, it happens with Costco (if you can find a code for them) and a few others. They are an agency that makes money by booking these for the rental company. I believe someone has answered your question, so, I am going to assume this conversation with you is over. What's likely to happen? Maybe nothing and the rate will be honored. Maybe you'll pay full $$$ price. Maybe the rate will be honored, you'll get into an accident and find out the included insurance is void, your personal auto policy and credit card coverage won't pay either.

I just tried a reservation using the code - putting the number in the contract code space and made a reservation. No problem - are you using 299851?

Went with two groups. We both used it. It does not include a second driver so if you want that it is more money. No problem with the code.

Thanks for the update. Would you have to pay extra for another driver with this code if you are a member of Alamo Insiders (which is supposed to give you a free second driver)?

yes you have to pay...so basically it's the same costs as the other codes out there if you are adding a second driver
