Anyone have problems with Von's delivery? Update!

My DD is on her first DL family vacation and she placed an order with Von's to be delivered today to DI & S. Her family waited and never received a phone call from the driver and when they went down to the front desk, they were told there had been no delivery made. She called the customer service number and was told the delivery was made and once it was made, there was nothing that could be done. She is now out $60.00 and has no order.

Does anyone have any suggestions that could help her get Von's to make this right. They have no car to go to another store to get the items they need. This puts a damper on their trip:sad1:
 
Very strange thing for customer service to say. A delivery was not made so there should be plenty they can do. When I had a Vons delivery made to us at Ho Jo's about a year and a half ago I had to sign for it. Since the driver would have no access to the room number he would have to go through the front desk. That would mean someone there would have signed for it if it was left with them.

I would call back and ask to speak to a supervisor or someone who is authorized to help and insist on receiving the delivery. The should be able to speak to the driver and ask who received it.

How frustrating. I wish them luck and please let us know how it plays out because several of us have/will use them and we need to know how they handle things like this.
 
Wow, that's horrible. I was looking to use them for the first time this month. I wonder if they have the name of the person who signed for the delivery. Perhaps the order really is sitting at the motel and there has just been some sort of miscommunication. I hope things get sorted out.
 
Yeah, sounds like there's more to the story. They need to find out who allegedly signed for it and go from there! If nobody, then talk to Von's again!
 

They spoke to the hotel and they said they did not sign for a delivery. DD said she called customer service and the person she said that she talked to was a manager and once it was delivered, they had no recourse. I told her she needs to find out from Von's who signed for it. I told her she needs to keep pushing them to prove where and who it was delivered to. She had ordered water, snacks, diapers, wipes etc. The worse thing is not having the diapers as she thought by ordering that would save some space in her suitcases.

The manager said they could investigate it perhaps, tomorrow. Not a good start to her trip.
 
Yes, we had to sign for our Vons delivery too. We were even given a printout of our order upon delivery

However, I do not recall the delivery driver calling us. Maybe I've just forgotten but I do recall the HoJo's front desk letting us know our order was here & that they had sent the guy up to our room.

No problems at all. Definitely call Vons- they paid for something they didn't receive. Not cool!

We, also, did not get and were not expecting a call from the driver. We just signed up for a delivery window of 2 hours. We lucked out because our driver pulled up just as our shuttle did.
 
Sorry that is happening to her. Definitely not a good way to start vacation :(

We used them once, before we started driving, no problems.
We didn't have to sign anything or get a call.
I can't remember what time we arrived though............so it may have been there when we arrived.

Good luck to her and the family. Hope they get some fun in!!

She received her delivery today. She called Von's customer service today and spoke to someone different than yesterday. They investigated and were able to track down the delivery. They wouldn't give her any information about where it was delivered to, but told her that they were having another driver from Long Beach deliver it instead of the Anaheim area driver. I'm just glad they were able to get their order.
 
Good news for her :) hope I don't have any issues when I get it delivered to DLH... Any suggestions on how to avoid that, request they be signed for?

Does anyone know the DLH procedure for having them delivered?
