Hi everyone, this is my first time on this board because I am a self diagnosed Disney Resort Addict. I had my ressies all made for a trip next month staying at Port Orleans Riverside which I love. Well, my cousin owns a time share and said she can get us into a non-disney resort for 1/3 of the cost plus its 3 times bigger (there will be 6 of). We were going to get connecting rooms at POR but now have a ressie for a 2 bedroom suite at MGV.
So I had no leg to stand on for defending my choice given the money we would all save.
Can anyone please ease my fears with some pics of MGV other than what they have on their site? I would love to see pics of rooms, the child play area inside, pools, kiddie pools, anything at all that would put my mind at ease.
I know I am irrational, but please understand, in college I worked at Epcot in the college program and I have ALWAYS stayed at Disney Resorts. Disney has me brainwashed. This is sort of like my family's version of an intervention. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Expedia has some pictures of the resort. And where it's location is.

Transportation will be different than being on site. Cost of parking , renting a car, all traveling together...etc. No EMH's.

But you know your family, so whatever you choose, you will have fun!!! :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

in the 2-bedroom - the master is a king bed, livingroom queen sleeper sofa,

the second bedroom is a studio - has a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa.

Disney's DVC studio has only a queen bed and a double sleeper sofa.

I preferred the Marriott's studio because of this.

Thank you all so much! I have enjoyed everyone's pictures. They have definitely helped.
So my next question is what is the best area to ask for? I have checked some other threads and I realize I need to ask for a new or renovated room. Any particular buildings you can recommend?
And what is the children's play area like?

I think most of the 80's building have been rehab.

the children's play area is inside.

however their is no monitor.

so the older children are allowed to bully the younger children. So if your child plays in this area watch them carefully.

and be prepared to tell someone else child to behave.

their parents won't or aren't even around....

Any other tips?
I've just booked one of those 5 day 4 night getaways for $199. I upgraded to a 1 bedroom for $99 more. I'm going down in October.

Any more opinions on this resort?

Tips?
