...of the Marriott Orlando World Center ??? What can you tell me about this hotel ?? What are the rooms and pools like ?? :sunny:

My husband had a wireless convention there and so we stayed for three nights. It was very nice. There are 4 towers, and we stayed in the north tower. The rooms are numbered by your tower, floor and room number. For example, our was 4 17 27. I was a bit intimidated when I read about parking before staying there, but it turned out great for us. Self park is $7 per day, and they have a parking structure that is supposedly a hike from the hotel. However, since we were in the north tower, there is a little lot behind it that is first come, first serve. We never had a problem finding a parking spot there. The hotel itself is spotless and has a lot of nice dining options and gift shops. The girls and I spent a lot of time at the pool- 2+ hours everyday! It is one of the nicest resort pools I have ever seen- waterfalls, hot tubs, pool slide, shady and sunny spots to sit, etc. The pool was never crowded, because it is mainly a convention resort and many of the conventioners were very busy. The girls and I did most of our meals outside the hotel (we tried to get out to the parks some), so I can't really comment on their food from my end. Having stayed at other big convention hotels before (Gaylord Opryland comes to mind), the Marriott did a great job of the food from my husband's angle. He had wonderful steak lunches, bountiful breakfasts, and a ton of dessert and snack options during the day that were catered by the Marriott. He had nothing but rave reviews for the food. I was a bit jealous. ;)
The rooms themselves all have balconies with a couple of chairs and a small table. We didn't use ours much except to look out at the view of Orlando. Our room had two full size beds with a pear green, yellow, and muted red toned comforter. The wood of the cabinets was a light maple. The room had a desk with chair, another chair with a small table, and an entertainment center with safe. The room itself is standard Marriott, much like other Marriotts we have stayed in before. My husband calls it a corporate look. The bathroom area has two sinks with a large mirror and granite countertops. The soaps are pretty and shaped like shells. The toilet is in with the tub. There are ironing boards, irons, and coffee makers.

I don't know if my husband has downloaded our pictures. After we checked out, we realized we forgot our cable to download with in the room. It was found in the floor's linens and returned to us at the end of our vacation (I called and they looked), so we did not take a lot of pictures after that. If you would like to see pics, I will see what I can do about getting them on here.

Wow ! Sounds like quite the place ! I can't wait !! Can you see this resort from I - 4 ?? I think I know which it is, but not sure if I have the wrong place in mind. What is the "Dive-in movie theatre"? On their website, I see photos of kids sitting in floats at the "Dive-in Movie Theater"? Do they have floats to use ? Does the parking go on your room bill or do you have to pay when you pull in ? Can't believe you actually have to pay to park ! Think Disney spoiled me !

Yes, would love to see your photos if you are able ! Thanks in advance. Glad that they found your cable !!

Yes, you can see the resort from I-4...it is huge, can't miss it. Don't know about the movie or floats. Saw nothing like that when we were there. We paid for parking at check out. We were also in the North tower and parked in the lot behind it. Very easy. We could also see Pleasure Island and the big Planet Hollywood globe from our room. We watched the fireworks from our balcony. It was nice. We really liked it there and would go back in a heartbeat.

I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to get these pics on here. First of all, it was such a busy week last week, and then I had to beg the husband to download the pictures from his laptop onto my desktop so I could post them.

Yes, you can definitely see the Marriott from I-4 and that helped us more than once when we were close to getting lost. I don't know about the pool floats or the movies, so I can't be of help there.
