anyone have norton anti virus?

i was running a virus scan and it says at the top system status:urgent attention....

the "Auto protect" is off...i hit the button to turn it on , and nothing happens...
any ideas?

also..it has an ERROR next to email scanning.....

i have no idea how to fix tihs...by the way, its scanning and no virus has come up..thanks in advance

That same thing happened to me 2 months ago. Everything was whacko on my system. I finally had to take it to the shop. It was a mess. Seems that my wonderful 30 y/o son did something that let a slew of bad stuff in when he reset some security settings. Someone must have an answer for you.

I have Norton Anti Virus, but I never had that happen to me.
My only problem is that it won't auto update the newest antiviral updates and I have to do it manually.

see if that can work for you.
Also, make sure that your options are set up correctly for you. Go into the options screen on your Norton see how it's set up.

On mine you just go in under options, then you can click on the box that say "enable auto protect." Is it unchecked?

it was unchecked..i checked it...then it just goes back to unchecked....

That sounds liek soemthing that happened to me once, a couple of months ago...or something very similar (I am so technologically impaired)

Anyway, I ended up just closing everything and shutting down, and then turning the computer back on again, and going into NOrton and making sure the settings were the way I wanted (auto-protect and such) and everything was fine.........

Good luck....it's so frustrating........

if so it is a glitch with it. It might take uninstalling and reinstalling it to clear it up.

Nortons Internet Security and Nortons antivirus 2004 has loads of problems.

I also have Nortons and am having problems today. I ran the virus scan and deleted 3 virus , but Im still having trouble. I will have to wait for my Dh to get home.

its 2003....i did restart, and it does the same thing.....no virus came up when i did the scan...
