I'm disneymooning at POR in January and have heard that they are now holding campfires. Anyone have the details?

i, too, am patiently waiting till someone comes back from Thanksgiving trip to POR that will share this info - we'll be there in a couple of weeks...
thanks!

Sorry gals, just found this thread. Now I understand Gypsy. I knew of no campfires when I was there and left PORS on 11/22/03. It also was not mentioned on the resorts newsletter for November which they gave me at checkin. Sorry but I don't even know where they would hold this on the grounds.

The only campfires I have heard of at WDW are nightly at Fort Wilderness. You can go to this as long as you are staying at any Disney resort.

We just returned from a stay at POR. We did not attend the campfire there (we did go to Fort Wilderness though) but they do have one. The info was printed on a half sheet of paper that we got at check in. I believe it was 6-8 (or 6:30-8:30) on Old man island. I do know that it said that reservations were suggested as there is a limited capacity. They were selling the smore's kits there too. Hope this helps!

There is also a campfire and story...sorry, no smores:( , at AKL.

I just read this in the All Ears newsletter......

From Anne Stepien, regarding last week's note about the
Campfires held at Port Orleans: These actually started last
February. They're called Campfires on de' Bayou. Attendees can
roast s'mores and sing songs around the fire nightly from
6:30-7:30 p.m. (weather permitting) on Ol' Man Island, behind
the Fishin' Hole. S'mores kits (with graham crackers,
marshmallows, chocolate, and sticks) are available for $5, extra
marshmallows are $2.50. Children under 12 must be accompanied by
an adult. For more campfire information, visit the Riverside
Marina.
I hope to check this out too!!!

Hey, thanks for the info. We'll have to check this out when we're there!::yes::

one of the cute things about the campfire at FW was when Chip and Dale showed up - are the other campfires going to have characters too?
