Hi guys! 
DH and I are buying our first house and it's teeny tiny (and oh so adorable!). We need to gut the kitchen, but for reasons I won't go into here (DH is an architect, he can talk my ear off on this stuff) we want to go a more inexpensive route for this particularly teeny 10' galley kitchen.
We've found some gorgeous maple cabinets but the quote is just too much for this particular space. Not worth it, really.
We currently have an apartment full of IKEA furniture. I used to live near the one in NJ. I'm VERRRRRRY familiar with everything there... I have stuff I love that's held up amazingly well and I have stuff I hate that is just poorly made and cheap.
But I've always felt I've gotten what I paid for.
ANYWAY! What I have NO experience with is their line of cabinets. We could literally cut the cost of re-doing the kitchen in half if we used them, and we love the look of a couple of the styles.
Question: Anyone have them? Do they hold up well? Discolor? Peel? Fall apart? Look great and last longer than you thought? Bear in mind, we have no children and are not planning to so we don't need to take "kid wear and tear" into consideration.
I'm a huge lurker here normally, so thanks for any advice!!!
