Who better to ask than my Dis friends! ;). Does anyone have any costumes that would fit a 7-year-old boy they want to sell? My triplets keep showing me these costumes and it's just NOT in the budget this year! Just thought I'd ask...thanks!

You could probably come up with some costumes just from stuff you have in your home:

* stuff some straw in some flannel shirts, throw on a floppy hat and make scarecrows (even attach some crows from a craft store!!)

* cut some jagged strips into flannel shirts, dab on some fake fur and pop in a pair of fangs and you could have a pack of werewolves.

* cut the bottom out of a large plastic tub and you could have 3 men in a tub - had to throw something in there for a threesome!

Coupons from stores like Michaels or AC Moore could come in handy...also, your local Good Will/thrift/consignment store may have a great selection of affordable costumes.

Also, when Halloween is over, shop the clearance at Walmart/Target for next years costumes.....I got costumes last year for this year that way!!

My son is 7 & this year he is going to be a Lego (well assuming I get it made).

My dh brought me home a box from work. I started a trial (getting another box) last week. I plan on punching either 6 or 8 holes in it, got a plastic cup & cut it & discarded the bottom, put the cling saran wrap on it & I am going to shove that thru the holes & tape it (I think) & then spray paint it green.

I saw it on the coolest costumes site. Another way I may do it is to use butter/cream cheese or deli containers for the bumpy part of the Lego but I don't know if I have enough of those yet.

Check out Woman's Day Magazine on news stands right now for $1.99. It has lots of great easy homemade costumes for kids. Over the years we have used their ideas for dozens of costumes........

My DS was a lego one year and it was really cute and easy to make, he got tons of compliments. We used cups.
