Anyone have experience with EMH 7AM at MK during Spring Break?

We are returning to WDW 3/28-4/4. We plan on spending 3/31 and 4/1 at MK. It's our first time during Spring Break and I am nervous about the crowds. We have been at other peak times like Thanksgivng and presidents week but we are new to Spring Break. There are probably going to be morning EMH at 7AM all week. We usually try to avoid EMH so we aren't sure what to expect. Can anyone help us with these questions.

1. Can we get a lot accomplished even with the heavy Spring break crowds if we are there for rope drop?
2. Do they choose a family to open the park for EMH or only regular hours?
3. We are staying at AKL. We will have a car. Should we drive to MK and use the monorail? Take the bus or a taxi? We want to arrive by 6:30 at the latest.

We were there Dec 30, one of the most crowded days of the year. We arrived to MK about 6:50 am, got six rides done in the first two hours with the longest wait being about 10 minutes. We left to nap at noon, and returned near 6 for the nighttime shows and stayed til 2 am. We got a lot done with very little wait, so it was very worth it! Have fun!

Well, it's been about 3 years since we did spring break but we loved it.
MK opened every morning at 7am while we were there and we did a lot during emh!
We got there at 7 and left around 11am for a late breakfast either in the park or a resort.
When we were leaving around 11am there was always what seemed like thousands of cars coming into the parking lot.
We would spend the rest of the day relaxing around the pool and then head back to a park very late at night.
We always drive to MK.
I don't remember any opening shows tho.

Yes, and it's wonderful. To answer your questions:

1. Yes. We have always been able to do A LOT in the first 3 hours or so.

2. They do the welcome show at about 6:50.

3. Personally, I would take the bus, but some people prefer driving. I'm too cheap to take a cab when I can take a free bus.You really don't have to be there by 6:30 because there just aren't that many people there that early. When we stayed at Bay Lake Tower in 2013 we walked to the MK twice for 7 AM openings and were going through the bag check as the opening show was going on. There weren't that many people ahead of us and it had no effect on what we did. Maybe it will be a little more crowded this year with people rushing to go to the mine train or Anna and Elsa. Maybe someone who was there over Christmas can comment on that. If it were me, I would get to the bus stop a little after 6. If the bus comes right away you will be among the first there. If you have to wait 20 minutes for a bus, you'll still be OK.

we went this past spring break and I would say crowds are very mild until 10ish. We rode space mountain twice, peter pan, big thunder, and got pictures with Minnie all in the first couple hours. Then buzz went down and the park got crowded. (Splash was down for refurb, big thunder had problems all day, and 7DMT was not open yet) The lines for the rest of the day were 2 hours plus. We waited until later that night and sacrificed watching the parade and fireworks to ride what we had left. It was so busy and hot it was not worth it for our party to wait hours for pictures and rides.

I did it at Easter 2013 and it was amazing. On a day that later had a capacity closing at the MK, I was one of maybe 30-50 people waiting outside the turnstiles for the 7 AM opening. I was one of 5 people on a bus from the Swan/Dolphin that morning.

I felt like I had the park to myself until about 9:30/10:00. I walked on everything - including ETWB, Space, Peter Pan, and all of the other headliners.

Wasn't anything like Easter, but we were there for 7am EMH in early December and the park was empty for the first few hours. Didn't see a line of more than 3 minutes for quite a while.

We are going Easter week as well. According to Easywdw.com MK EMH are at 8:00AM. I'm just curious why everyone here is saying 7AM.
