Anyone have experience with "dessert seating" for F! @ Disneyland?

I recently heard about the special "dessert seating" for Fantasmic. I called reservations to find out more information, all he could give me was the seperate line to call for reservations. I plan to call the 60 days in advanced to make the reservations, but wondering if anyone else has had the experience of dessert seating and what exactly is included/ required? Any opinions or explainations are welcomed!

They have a center area they set up with folding chairs. There are CMs to seat you, serve you non-alcoholic beverages and a carton full of different desserts. The beverages and desserts are IMO not worth $59 but what you are really paying for is the ability to not have to save spots for F. Note that you have to check in earlier in the evening and pick out your seats--so it's a good idea to be early for the check in, then you can come and sit a few minutes prior to F.

Yes--although I think if you have annual passports you can get a discount--but it's still quite pricey.

In my opinion this is worth doing at least once unless you have exhaustiable funds. When we did it we sat in the old "Gallery", and the desserts were presented like a buffet. There were also crackers, cheese and fruit. The drinks were served by the CM. So you could go back as much as you wanted. Of course, everything was so rich you were done the first trip except for drinks. The view of the show was the best. Up Front And Center!!! Disney does everthing so right!!

There is NO discount for the Fantasmic Desert Package. I asked when I made my reservations for it last week. You can make reservations 30 days in advance, not 60. IMHO it is worth it, not to have to sit on the hard cement for the time that one has to in order to get a spot.

We plan on doing this too in July. No, we don't have unlimited funds....but since we will have a 1.5 year old with us (plus DD9 and DD8) I really don't want to have to stake out a seat for a couple of hours.

Plus the desserts and hot cocoa at the end of the night sound really relaxing.

Its 59 for adults and 49 for children...totally worth it to keep my sanity with the kids

Awesome advice! This is my very first post and my first DLR trip for my family. My son's b-day and my wife's graduation will make this a wonderful treat. Anyone have a list of what kinds of food in the dessert pack? The type of drinks offered?

There are some basic factors to consider. I would do this for my birthday one time in my life probably for the experience but otherwise will camp out some place or use the disabled viewing areas.

First is the cost. Some people should save the $200+ for things they could use like food and souvenirs as they are on a budget while for others $500 for a prime seat without waiting would be no problem.

Second is how cheap are you as for me I cannot see me spending that kind of money for special seating when I can get a good seat for free.

It is worth it and something I want to try but not something I have to do soon.

The last time I had it there were a couple pieces of cheese, some crackers, some grapes, a chocolate covered strawberry and then some other assorted pastry items--like a mini tart, a cookie, etc. Way too much for one person. We ended up eating one and taking the other back to the room. The drinks are water, soda, coffee and hot chocolate.

I have a pic of it somewhere. Must be on the other computer. Anyways, I really enjoyed this when I went. It was a great experience. The seats were good and its nice to have a chair to sit in for the show. The dessert box is ginormous. It had so much in it. Tarts, fruit, cheese and crackers, choc covered strawberry, truffles, and cookies. The service you get is also really great. The have a server assigned to you and they bring you your beverage and refil is needed. Plus if there is anything you need, they hook you up. My DD's box was missing the edible spoon in hers, so she asked for one, they gave her an entire new box. They really didn't need to. Then when the show was over and time for the fireworks, the "server" moved our chairs for us so we could have a better view of the fireworks. Yes its pricey, but I think its worth it at least once. I will try to find the pics and post later.

Thank you all for your wonderful advice and comments. I will be going a week after my birthday so I think this would be a great time to do it. If anyone has any photos of the view of F! while in this special section or any photos of the dessert offerings, I would definately be interested in seeing them.

We found it a wonderful way to experience this show without the hassle of crowds & long wait times. If you go to the first showing you will be allowed to stay in your seats to watch the fireworks that follow.

I really like it..mainly because you got a seat and no crowds. However, be aware that there is railing in front of you which can kind of block the view, as can other people seated in front of you. I ended up standing at the back of the section for the actual show so I could see. Still, after a long day, it was worth it.

We do not buy many suvey's but we do enjoy the experience. Three years ago it was on my birthday and a CM had the whole audience sing happy birthday...was much fun for an old man.

LOL--a CM did that for my mom's birthday too when we did the premium seating--she likes to say she had 15,000 people sing Happy Birthday to her! (It was really crowded that night!)

We did it up in the Gallery in 2002 and it was absolutely fantasmic! Did not do it in 2006 and it was horrible trying to watch it with folks crowding around and bumping us. I do believe we will try it again this year to make life easier. I wish they could make the riverfront seating raise up so you get the same clear view we got from the balcony, though.

We signed up for this several times when it was in the former Disney Gallery and thought it was worth every penny. After the gallery was closed, we've signed up for the reserved seating once. We were really disappointed with the seats - we were off to the side and a light pillar partially blocked our view of Fantasmic. While I agree it is nice to have a seat and tasty treats, chairs should be arranged so there are no obstructed views. It was especially aggravating because the cast member assigning the seats recommended them. So, choose your seat carefully!

I've done it a few times, once up in the balcony (no longer offered), and a few times riverside when we had guests staying with us. My son & his girlfriend did it recently, and really enjoyed it. They had the boxed desserts & drinks.

Just a minor clarification about calling ahead. It's a month, not 30 days in advance. If you are going on July 30, then you should call on June 30. If you go on August 30, you should call on July 30, etc.
