Anyone have experience prioritizing park tickets at their resort?

I have an old non-expiring ticket that I linked to MDE for a trip last December that still has unused days on it. Going in a few weeks and have a resort/ticket package that I want to make sure gets used instead of the non-expiring days. Phone CM told me I could prioritize the two types of tickets at my resort. Is this true? Has anyone successfully done this? I'd rather do it there ahead of time than waste time at guest services at rope drop. Don't have time to go to GS at DS before our first park day either. Just want to make sure it can be done at the resort and that it will work if done there...don't want them accidentally pulling from the non-expiring tix!
Thanks!

I tried the resort (CSR) and was told I had to do it at the park, guest services just outside the gates. That was just this past October. :goodvibes

You could just deactivate your non-expiring ticket on MDE. Then reactivate it after your current trip is done

It depends on the resort and how your other tickets were purchased. Some of the deluxe, especially concierge and club level visitors tend to have the best CMs who have access or know how to do this. moderates and values I wouldn't trust to do this and they can be limited, especially if your new tickets are not a package deal with the room.

if you want to be 10000% sure it's not going to be used, stop at guest relations before using any tickets, they are at every park before and after you would use your ticket and also at disney springs if you happen to be there before heading to a park. It's usually very quick.

Does it work with all tickets? This particular one was from about 13 years ago. I've tried deactivating it before, but when I look up my tickets (in "My tickets and passes" in MDE under "Reservations") it just shows the ticket and that it's assigned to me, but there's no where to click to do anything with it. Am I looking in the wrong spot?

I've never had to go to guest relations in my 40 years of going to Disney...is it just right outside the park so I can head there before rope drop? Will be at AK that day. Is there usually a long line (even though the process is quick)? And you think I should go both before and after using it just to make sure they pulled from the correct one? Thanks so much for your help :)

We had 2 different trips planned this year, with 2 different sets of tickets. Our first of the two trips was just this weekend, so after checking in at the Boardwalk we stopped by the ticket booth/guest relations outside the International Gateway at EPCOT to double-check. I explained the situation to the CM and that we just wanted to be sure that the tickets were prioritized correctly in MDE. The CM scanned our bands, confirmed that the tickets were prioritized the way we wanted, and that was it. Took maybe a full minute. And yes, the ticket windows should be outside of the tapstiles, and I think they open an hour before park opening (?), so you should be able to take care of it prior to rope drop with no problem. The CM did thank us for stopping by before going into a park and said that it is much easier to change ticket priority before going to a park than it is to fix the problem later if the wrong ticket is used for admission. We only had one person in front of us in line with only one window open and had to wait a few minutes before they opened a second window, but this was also shortly before park closing, but I would imagine that even if there are more people in line in the morning there will probably be more windows open that time of day. You can definitely stop by again on the way out to double-check, or I remember another DISer saying recently that you can have one of the CMs with an iPad at the tapstile check right as you're entering the park. Hope that helps!

Try looking under your profile in MDE, not reservations and tickets. You'll find the links to deactivate there

Thanks so much for this info...it helps a lot! Will just plan on heading to guest relations as soon as we get to AK. Sounds easy enough. Hope you had a great weekend!!

I don't understand what you're asking.

You don't actually have to go to a GR or ticket window. When I have multiple tickets in my MDE for work trips, I call to have them prioritized correctly, then when I visit the park, I find a CM holding an iPad at the gate. I ask them to scan my band to double-check the tickets are prioritized correctly, then enter the park.

If the trips are far enough apart that I do not have FP+ reservations associated with one of the tickets, I deactivate it, but often that is not the case.

This will not work. Once the entitlements are in your MDE account they cannot be deactivated. The only thing you can deactivate is the media (MB or cards).

You will have to go to guest services at one of the parks or Disney Springs to have them prioritize your tickets.

We have a similar situation with my older DS, we just purchased AP's but he has a some days left on a NE 10 day. We spent some time at GS in Disney Springs this past April trying to figure this out and that is the only solution. You must prioritize at GS. They can't do it at a resort.

What number are you calling to do this? I was told the only way to do it was in person at GS.

so.. this coming trip in late august. we are booked under the "free" dining promotion. but we don't want to use the required 2 day tickets with hopper. we want to use our current annual passes.

I want to put the 2 day park hopper passes we were required to purchase "on the back shelf" to bridge for annual passes for nest year.

I read a post recently on the disboards. someone did the same thing we are doing. the wife's account was ok, but on the husband
s account, when he entered the parks, the "gate" used his 2 day tickets. that was intending to save for an upgrade to annual passes the next year.
so when they checked the MDE account his 2 day tickets had gone .. POOF! not good.
he did not want to use them but instead of entering the park on his current annual pass, it took the 2 days off of his "required" 2 day tickets for his "free" dining

Just stop at guest relations and they will make sure that your AP is prioritized. Definitely agree that you need to do this before going into the park first use -it can be fixed after entry but it's a MUCH more complicated /time consuming effort (been there! Done that!)

We have had this done when we had a regular park ticket, halloween tickets, and military park hoppers - we had to stop at GS anyway to activate the military tickets and we asked about prioritizing the tickets - it only took a few extra minutes

Easy.
These are new, unused tickets.

Just create "fake extra names" in your MDE account (like "June Bug" or "Billy Two") and assign those new tickets to those names.
Your REAL names will keep using the APs.

When you're ready to use the Package tickets (for upgrade or AP renewal, etc.) just reassign them to your REAL names.

Unused tickets can be reassigned as many times as you like.
