Anyone have Degenerative Disk Disease

I have been having severe neck and back pain for a couple of weeks. I went to a chiropractor and she took xrays which show Subluxation Degeneration/ Degenerative Disk Disease. I am in Phase 3 for my neck and back.

Has anyone been through treatment before using a chiropractor and did your condition get any better?

I go next week to discuss treatment options which include just making the pain less or a more "involved" treatment plan (not sure what is involved yet)

I would work with your chiropractor, maybe even getting a second chiropractic opinion before going the traditional medical route. In early stages they can reverse it... mine has been maintained for years, gotten some better and certainly not worse.

I have 3 friends who have had to have surgery to fuse the neck vertebrae... they go in through your throat! They have all done fine, but... pretty intense!

I have been diagnosed with this myself. I go on Monday to discuss my options with my doctor. I had a second MRI this past Wednesday so he could see how far the degeneration is.

I would get a second opinion with a MD.

The second my chiropractor saw the MRI showing my DDD, he immediately sent me on my way to a neurosurgeon.

I have known people with disc problems back pain. It's horrid. I hope that you get better.

My wife had some discs in her lower back replaced with titanium baskets because of Severe Degenerative Disk Disease. You might want to try an orthopedic surgeon who is a spine specialist and a good neurosurgeon. Then you can weigh the options offered.
