We have always liked the uniden ones until this last set. Now the battery life has been really bad. Anyone have ones they really like?

Look for the Panasonic cordless phones, I got mine a Costco (5 handsets) I only needed to plug 1 phone in and they all work from the central unit. The Panasonic phones also use regular rechargeable AAA batteries for easy replacement.

Short answer- no!

Same boat as you as far as Uniden. Just bought the Panasonic a couple of weeks ago and they sound like static most of the time. Plug in the Uniden and no static- until they die! :rotfl2: :headache::headache::headache:

Then there's the fact that the more handsets we have the less likely someone will return them to the charger. Have to find the missing ones before we can return the Panasonic. :rolleyes1

We just got rid of our Uniden ones..hated them!!
About a month ago we bough a set of at&t ones that we really like. We bought them at Walmart and one thing we like about them is they show the battery life on the phone, the way a cell phone does.

I have panasonic too and I really like them. I used to have Uniden and could hear all the surrounding noise on the phone, which I hated. I have the panansonic that says who is calling out loud and I really like that feature because with 4 kids we sometimes can't find the phone right off. They hold a charge for a long time and I dont' have any static on my line.

I've been looking for one that has a call block feature on the phone - so I can maybe quit hearing the phone ring for the 4 times a day Omaha Steaks tries to call me.

We've had an AT&T one (base unit, 3 other phones around house) for quite a few yrs now, and still working great, sounds great... shows a battery symbol on each receiver, so know when you need to get it back in its dock.

I believe some Panasonic phones have that option as long as you subscribe to Caller ID... I think you can block up to 20 numbers or so.

Or we've had Ooma now for a little while, and that also lets you block as many #'s as you like.. we've built up quite the list since we started it, lol!

Our Panasonic (from Costco a while back) are not that great. The battery charge is awful and when one is off the cradle and out of battery, the other one won't work either even if it is fully charged.

We have Ooma phone service though and I am just going to get the Ooma handsets and I think they will work better.

I finally bought a set that I really like, AT&T from BJ's

I love that I can check messages from any phone in addition to all the other great features.

We have had a panasonic for years and been happy, but some of the buttons are wearing out and won't press or press twice. We need a new phone, but I can't find one that does not have a caller id screen. We do not have caller if, and do not want it. I think the phone would look better with out the screen. Anyone see any with out the caller id screen anymore?

TIA

We have had this Panasonic set for 5 years. I bought them from Costco and they have 4 handsets plus 1 base. These are the type where you can listen to your messages from any of the handsets or the main base. You can also block up to 30 numbers. The phone will ring once but then it stops and the caller hears a busy signal. I loves these phones!

I have the same as you I think. I bought mine after having Uniden phones quite a few times. The batteries in them eventually don't hold a charge anymore and the cost of a new battery is more than just buying new phones.

I was told Panasonic and another brand (maybe AT&T?) were the best as they have regular recharagable batteries.

I bought the Panasonic KX-TG6534C model. It has 4 handsets, answering machine, lighted keypad, says the caller when phone rings, Dect 6.0, you can name each phone (I have living room, Office, Daycare, etc). You can listen to the answering machine from one of the handsets. It also shows how much battery life is left on each handset.

We bought the Uniden 4 line phone from Costco in April and I thought it was great except one of the handset batteries would not charge so I returned it to Costco and bought the Panasonic KX-TG7624 with Bluetooth Link to cell.
It has talking caller Id....You can program each handset independently. The handsets in the bedrooms are programmed not to ring during sleeping hours,
You can also pair it up with up to 2 cell phones. This feature works whether you have a landline or not. When I am at home my cell phone will ring on the panasonic phones.... so if my cellphone rings I can answer it on any of the phones. I liked the Uniden phone but I love the Panasonic....
You can also block calls.

That sounds like what we have as well and yes, they take regular batteries. Makes it easier when the batteries get low.

I go to bed early due to swimming early so the phone in my room is on silent mode from 7:30pm until I leave at 4:30am (in case I need to call and wake up my husband). This way my mother in law no longer wakes me up when she calls at 8pm (despite me asking her not to call that late!)

I've purchased AT&T and Uniden phones and they both stink. I would be lucky if they lasted a year (always battery issues).

I now have Panasonic and I LOVE THEM. Purchased them over 3 years ago and they are still going strong.

Bought them at Costco on sale.

DO NOT BUY THE OOMA HANDSET. It was the worst phone I ever had. Seriously!

I have a not very expensive ($24.99) Radio Shack cordless phone thatworks well. It doesn't have an answering machine, but a light blinks to let me know when I have a voice mail message via my phone company.

But if I were buying a new phone, I'd get a corded cordless - probably a Panasonic from Amazon. The hub has a cord so you have a phone if the power goes out, but you can still have the cordless handsets.

I don't have caller ID. I have a Uniden set that has a screen but it shows time, handset number and battery life, plus talk, volume and number of seconds min utes you've been using the phone, and probably some other stuff.

Battery life is fine. If one is dead, the others work. No static.

I have 2 sets. Don't need second set anymore as I dropped that line.

But...dog chewed 2 handsets! Both still work but not so attractive any more. Maybe its time to replace the dog....
