had centurylink for internet access here for awhile. Worked fine at first, but after a few months the connection would drop constantly when I was trying to use my remote access to log into my work pc. No luck with their help desk in getting it to stabilize (I figured it was a bandwidth issue or the like). Finally switched to charter (bundled tv/internet, but kept the home phone with centurylink), and haven't had any issues since.
of course, centurylink gave a price for the home phone alone, then the bill came and it was about double (claimed it was extra fees/etc for this/that). Have watched it increase a little every month, so tomorrow I'm dumping them completely and rolling the home phone into the charter bundle as well. (did try to get a bundle with centurylink before with phone/internet/dish network, since they kept sending flyers in the mail about it; but anytime I'd inquire, they said I couldn't since I was already a customer.... with the ease people can switch providers anymore, you'd think companies would stop that practice and be a little more willing to give better deals/etc to existing customers to reward loyalty.)
