Anyone have any trouble using the AMEX Travelcard?

We have our cards ready to go and called AMEX. They told me we can use it anywhere you can use AMEX credit card. Do most places accept it?

Wow, does this bring back memories. We always travel with a Visa and an Amex card on vacation. My husbands Visa got stolen in St. Thomas, so we called Visa and the account cancelled immediately. No big deal, right? We still have the Amex card with us. Well, I spent soooooo little that trip because no one would take Amex. I still laugh when I watch the "Don't leave home without it" commercials

We always use our Amex on all of our travels (and we travel alot), it's one of the only cards that we carry or we use cash. We've never really had any problems in either the Caribbean or in Europe using the card, it's just some of the very small establishments that may not take it. We then take out money at the local ATM's to get whatever currency we need. I find that more and more places take the Amex now than in the past.
