So we've decided to stay at Port Orleans Riverside instead of Swan.. we don't really like the look of Swan and thought it wasn't Disney enough!

Any suggestions on where to request to stay? Distance to bus stops/buildings aren't THAT big of a deal, we'd just like somewhere nice.

POR has two sections with different layouts/decor. Alligator Bayou is rustic and has smaller buildings. Mansions section is as it sounds - the buildings look like mansions and the decor is in line with this. Check out pics at allears.net. I would first narrow down which section that you prefer, and then figure out which particular building to request (with some help from disboard!).

I found a resort map (may or may not help)...

Enjoy!

My favorite mansion at POR is Parterre Place - I always request the side nearest the quiet pool over by Magnolia as that means you're just a few steps to the bridge that goes over to the food court/main bus stop.

We just stayed in May & we were in AB building #38. We thought it was perfect. It is the last AB & then the mansions start. Kind of get the best of both, plus the quiet pool is really close by in the mansion next door. We absolutely loved this resort & can't wait to go again. Another buildings I thought looked good were AB # 14,18,27

We were in building 39 and loved the location. We had second floor, corner room and it overlooked a quiet pool. It is such a beautiful resort and the convenience of being by a quiet pool really helped.

I stayed in Magnolia Terrace, which is right next to the bridge that goes to Ol' Man Island and then to the food court. Great location.

:teacher: I love POR. We were there in early June. Just the 3 of us. We requested AB but due to the # in our party, we were given a room in the mansions. At first (before entering) we were sad that we didn't get AB (our usual stomping ground). Upon entering (Parterre Place #9534) we fell in love with it all. It was a lovely room with a water view. Also, it was close to the bridge that went to the food court/general store. We were told that AB is basically reserved for families of 5 due to the trundle. We are now sold on the mansions and would recommend them again! Have fun!
