anyone have any suggestions for a hotel in Montreal?

We liked the Marriott Spring Hill in Vieux Port area of town. It's very close to everything and was a nice hotel.

I'm going to assume that you want a downtown hotel. We usually stay at the Fairmont Le Reine Elizabeth, which is very conveniently located close to the main train station and the subway. It is also connected to the underground shopping pathway. It is not cheap, but you can get specials for about $149/night plus tax, which does not include breakfast. You will definitely need reservations, Montreal is a "destination" city; downtown hotels are often booked up.

Thank you both for your suggestions. I just booked Marriott Spring Hill. This was exactly the type of hotel I was looking for!!! The rooms are suites, right in the heart of downtown and breakfast included. Yay :) Also thanks for the advice to make a ressie ASAP. I didn't realize how popular Montreal is. As I was looking at the various travel websites I noticed they didn't have my dates available (for July) but luckily I was able to make my ressie by going strait to the hotel's website (and I was able to get a AAA discount which took a nice bit off the bill and made price cheaper than travelocity or any other site!) I hate booking hotels sight unseen so I am so happy to have a recommendation. :goodvibes
