We bought a patio set on July 22nd; it was delivered this past Wednesday. I saw today that the set was reduced by $200. Sam's has a pretty strict price adjustment policy of only 8 days--is it worth even trying? I only received the set this past Wed.
Sam's also has a really good return policy. So you should be able to return in store for full price and get the cheaper one if they dont do the price adjustment
i would call sams customer support. they can track exactly when you bought it and when it was delivered. if they are like costco they should be accommodating and do the refund by phone.
Its WalMart could have predicted it for you. Very primitive. I needed a gift receipt so they had to return the 30 items one at a time, re ring and then ring w each item up. They can only issue 1 gift receipt 1 item at a time.

try dealing with a grocery pick up return if you accidentally order the wrong item. easy squeezy if the item is wrong or damaged on THEIR part-go online and they will do a refund to your credit card but if you made the mistake (i ordered the wrong type of canned ravioli) you have to jump through hoops. i took the canned goods and the on-line receipt in (just as i'de been told to do w/a previous return) only to find that 'no, that's a separate division so you have to call them first THEN have them tell you to bring it in so they code the return as approved' SERIOUSLY??? maybe spell that out on your website so people opt to just go in and get the freaking stuff themselves (and don't end up w/shorted orders and wrong products as i also have).
It is definitely worth trying. I run a business that purchases a ton of stuff from Sam's and rarely have I had an issue with returns and price adjustments after a longer period of time than that. Most is purchased in store and it looks like technically the policy is different for online but the fact it was recently delivered should work in your favor. If that doesn't work I would check with a store. They should be able to do it and if they don't at customer service at least talk to a manager and if necessary go to more than one store if you have another that is convenient. I have found huge differences in service from one store to another.
I'm a Costco person but I will point out on Sam's Club's website it is clearly stated what their policy is:
"Online Price Matching:
When purchasing online, you can request a price match within 8 days of purchase for items that are now on promotions like ISB. We do not price-match our competitors, but we will price-match everyday prices at Walmart."
Some businesses base their policies (price match, return/exchanges, etc) on the purchase date and some base it on the delivery date.
Sam's bases it on the purchase date NOT the delivery date; it wouldn't have mattered that your item got there on X date--it only mattered when you purchased it. I can understand the frustration and fully understand being disappointed in it but your price match was based on when you bought the item not when you got it delivered. I see no reason why you couldn't discuss it with Sam's so I'm not saying 'just deal with it' but I also understand if they were being firm in their policy.
Now Costco is more generous in terms of days allowed but they are also from purchase date not delivery date. Just providing that information.
that's why i keep my costco receipts. it never fails that something i purchased one month goes on sale in the next month's ad so i hold onto my receipts to get that credit back on my next trip. i've currently got $25 in gift cards piled up along with another $7 to claim when i go later this month (i opt for gift cards vs. a charge back to my costco visa-it's paid by the time i return and dd can use the gift cards and avoid having to pay for a membership ).
