Can anyone walk me through this? Do you just do this online then go to a special line at the hotel to pick up your passes and such or do they try to send that to you in the mail? I'm just trying to figure out whether or not I want to do this. We will be staying outside the grounds the night before check-in. We would like to try and make the opening of a park that morning and wonder if this is the way to go or not. Thanks in advance for all help.

That's what I did. A week before arrivial, I went online, checked-in, verified everything, and then got in the "Online Check In" line when I got to POFQ. They had a folder all ready with everything we needed, room keys, brochures, a printout of all our ADRs to double check. Made it 5 minutes tops from front door to bus (had to leave our carry ons as the room was not ready at 10:30 AM)

We did online check in at BC in March. It was very easy. There was a place to enter what time you expect to arrive at the resort. There's no place to freely type in any room requests. There are just different options you may choose from: like close to elevator. When we got there we were directed to a specific line at the front counter. It took just a few minutes. We were handed our folder with everything ready, and the room was ready then.

I did online checkin for our trip last month and when we got to the resort everything was ready to go! All they had to do was print our room keys since they wait to see if you plan to use them as a credit card also. It took maybe 5 mins and we were able to head to the parks since our room wasn't ready yet. I gave them my cell number and around 2:30 I received a text with our room number. It was great!

I did online check-in once and the line was longer than the regular check-in line. They seem to check me in about the same way so all in all I thought it was a waste of time for when I was there. I may give it one more try to be fair but to save me 3 minutes or so in line vs doing it for 5 minutes online is kind of a wash to me. Also, I wonder if you get "free" upgrades when doing it online. I seem to have pretty good luck with the free upgrades and wondered if checking in online impacts this at all.

We checked in online early this month and were upgraded from standard room to Concierge Level at BC. It was awesome!

I did online check in.... with 3 small kiddos and this being the first trip for DH I figured it'd be easier to leave them all in the van LOL

All I did was walk up, tell them my name and they gave me my 'packet' and told me where the room was :)

Have fun and Good Luck!!!

I did the same thing for my Sept trip with my family (at POP) and my Oct trip with my hubby (at POFQ). It's really easy: checki-in online, verify everything and print it all. Then when you arrive you're at the check-in counter give them your ID and you're ready to rock.

We did it at POP back In Oct It was quik and easy. But I want to request a water view and an AB Building at POR will I be able to do this with the online check In?

Last May, we did the online check in for Coronado Springs. I think we didn't end up getting to the hotel until 7:30 pm, so there wasn't really a line anyways so it didn't end up making a difference. They even ended up "verifying" all of the information I typed in anyways, so it was pretty useless that time.

Last December, we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and couldn't do online check in because we had booked through Coke. We got there around 2:30 and waited at least 30 minutes in the check in line. Those that had done online check in were being seen immediately.

I think it really depends on when you're planning on getting to the hotel. If you're getting there at prime check in time, then it probably is worth it to go ahead and do online check in. However, I'm not sure about how a special request for room location would work with it.

Love online check-in! When you get of the ME bus go directly to the online check in line, which might have one or two people in it. You will be done in like, 5 minutes. They will give you everything you need all ready for you.
Amazing!

You'll have to call to make those requests. But you can still use the on-line check-in too. (The only requests which you can make on-line, as I recall, are ground floor, pack n play, and near transportation.)

We've used the on-line check-in three times, but each time I called a day ahead of doing the on-line check-in to make special requests.

And on-line check-in worked great for us. Never had any wait at actual checkin-in all three times.
