I received an email from AES that my loan payment is due. I thought all federal student loans were suspended until September. Anyone else have this issue?
My oldest has a Perkins Loan that is still charging interest and requires a monthly payment. Payments and interest on her federal student loans, loans that the Department of Education lends to borrowers, are still being suspended.
Loans not owned by the Department of Education, are not covered by the CARES Act.
Yes, I have aes. And somehow they're not eligible for the federal suspension because now aes controls them and aesis a private company. It's awful! It's not like we had a say in who services our loans.
Thanks for the replies. I called them and got a big long explanation of why AES loans are not covered in the CARES Act; must be a common question, sounded like the person I spoke with was reading from a script.
