Hi

I was just wondering if anyone has a Trick or Treat party review yet from this year. We will be leaving on our holiday in 16 days but need a bit of a ToT fix :lmao:

So, has anyone been yet? If you had photos also that would be a doubly wonderful :yay:

I thought they started on the 25th of September :confused3 Maybe I'm just too eager, or maybe it was just a dream I had :lmao:

Halloweentime started on the 25th, but the first TOT party is only on the 2nd.

Oh wow... I just read that review on miceage. That makes me really hesitant to try it next year.

Remember the sourse DISers. I love to go to Miceage for news and the latest, and read over the forums too. But I rarely post cuz alot of the members are die hards and so negative. Not all the time, but it seems like no matter what subject I read someone is mad and offended by someone else whose idea differs from them. Sometimes I would just like to say lighten up to them, but then I'm scared they would come down on me, so I just move on. Another thing that was mentioned on Miceage was the price for the party. They were complaining about that. What other time will you get the chance to play, ride and trick or treat for 32.00 dollars? At DCA, it is half the price of WDW's party. :thumbsup2 Of course it is not quite the same, but then the price reflects that. No one over there mentioned that. They basically complained about the parking. I'm sure that was frustrating, but shouldn't reflect on the party itself. Also something about less trick or treating locations and only characters at certain places. I thought this was how it was last year too. :confused3

I for one, am looking forward to the party. I know that it will seem more crowded because of all the construction, but then i'm going in knowing that ahead of time.

Go with the flow and look for the good things and take advantage of them. :goodvibes

I have to say that that was amazing advice tinkermell

We went me 37, dh37 and dd10. It was our first time. We thought it was a lil crowded. We were confused to where the trick or treat stations were. We saw large pumpkin props that were lighted and thought those were it. Those turned out to be picture areas. We finally found one and it got easier. The candy lines were long. I've heard people say you get handfuls of candy, so we were alil disappointed when the first few places we only got 2-3 pieces, yes 2-3 pieces . Each stand had two people handing out candy and we always seem to get in the slowest line and the one that gave a few pieces while the other worker gave out almost a handful-lol!
We went to the pier and saw Toy story ride, the sign read 40 min so we got in line. Boy did it take FOREVER!!! It seemed more like and hour. It was fun and we enjoyed it. I didnt like the hot weather and it seemed humid. My hair frizzed so proof it was humid-lol! We did some more trick or treating and about 10pm we went to House of Terror didnt have a line and we basically walked on. It was our 1st time on it. It was scarey. DD and I felt a lil sick and we all agreed it would be our last time on it-lol! I was suprised dd didnt care for it because she loved Mt. Everest @ wdw. So we did two rides. I think the 4 hours went by to fast and House of Terror slowed us down since we felt queasy- thank goodness we went on it at the end. We saw a few min of the parade. Being our 1st time and dh and dd being to much into trick or treating I felt we missed a lot. At the end of the night one stand had a worker giving out handfuls of candy. He gave me one and asked if i wanted another one, i said sure so he did, He gave dh 2 HUGE handfuls roughly 3, he also gave dd 2 large ones. I think it was cool and it filled up our bags. I will admit we went throught some lines a few times and we did our round, other wise not much candy would have been collected.

Dd would like to go again . I think if we do we will do some rides and then the candy or atleast do more rides. Funny thing of all was dh. When i told him he would get a treat bag and he could get candy, he made a face like whatever, to cool for that, well he was more into trick or treating then dd and I. It was he's ideas to go throught the lines back to back-lol! He was speed walking to the treat center-lol! I'm just glad we paid $26 per ticket.

Sorry not much of a review since it was our first time.

just keep in mind though, Parking was madness...

However, it was interesting to see Trams running from Simba. I thought they might be doing that to test to see how well it works.

So which characters were out at the picture stations this year? I got from Miceage it were not as many stations as last year?

DH and I went Friday. We arrived at the parking lot early, so parking was not an issue. Of course, the first few trick or treat lines were long because everyone stopped at them. After that, the trick or treat lines were short, and the amount of candy given out increased as the night continued. We kept going and continued to the back of the park for a 5-minute wait on TSMM, which was probably the longest line of the night. This is our first time, so I can't compare to past parties, but it did not seem crowded, unless you followed the crowd. The only long lines were to meet characters (Mickey, Minnie, the princesses, Woody, Jessie, Cruella DeVil, Queen of Hearts, the cast from Peter Pan, etc.). The Incredibles and Sully were at the Bat-Lot Bash, and Goofy and others (can't remember) were in Sunshine Plaza. The calvacade was about what I expected from reading last year's reviews. It was fun seeing everyone dressed in costume and seeing all the special lighting and decorations. It's probably a one-time event for us, but we knew what to expect and had a great time.

5 min wait on toy story-WOW lucky you! We waited 40 min byt dh said it was more like 1 hr. Did you go on at the beg of the night? Once we got off the line seemed even longer.

We were there. It was crowded and it seemed like they didn't have as many rides open as last year. We went to Toy Story at rope drop and got right on twice. After that the line was really long. Most of the other lines were short. Some of the candy station lines were very long as well and some had hardly anyone in them. I did notice that my 5 yo received a handful of candy and I would only get 2-3 pieces. All in all it was fun but very crowded.

I was there and I think I can with some assurance say that was my first and lat time going to the Trick or Treat Party. It started with the parking nightmare. I thought I would follow the instructions they sent in an email and park in Buzz Lightyear, which really meant we got sent to Pongo. It seriously took us an hour to get on a shuttle to go to the park, it was ridiculous, and a terrible way to start the evening.

Why didn't we walk? Because the cast members couldn't tell us with any level of certainty if there was pedestrian access to Katella from the Pongo lot. Walking would have saved SO MUCH TIME!

Then, the whole evening was like standing in a really long line that snaked through the entire park to get candy. We were just there for trick or treating and character photo ops since we go to CA all the time. Seriously, there were like like 5 photo op stations. The highlight was taking our photo with Lady Tremaine and her daughters, since they are the characters we so rarely see out in the park.

For those of you going later in the month I would strongly suggest not parking in buzz lightyear lot, unless they've done something to fix that nightmare, which they probably haven't. Park in the structure if you have parking on your pass, or park in DTD and get validation somewhere which would get you five hours.

I'm not trying to sour anyone elses's experience, I'm still just kind of really mad at the experience. Just plan ahead and be prepared for the worst and you should be ok.
