Anyone have a Tempur Pedic bed?

Can't make up our mind between the Tempur Pedic or the Select Number - would love some feedback on either one. I'm leaning more w/the Tempur though.....thanks a bunch

We have a Bob-o-Pedic, does that count?

I love it very much. I went from only being able to sleep in one position in my old bad to being able to sleep any old way in this one! I actually fall asleep when I go to bed instead of watching TV for a couple hours till I finally nod off.
Simple things like the whole bed not moving when you sit on the edge are nice, too.

No experience with the Sleep Number, though they look pretty tempting, too.

Got one a couple of months ago and I love it! It took me a couple of weeks to adjust to it and at first I thought we had wasted the money because I was still waking up at night. But now I sleep thru the night unless one of the kids, cats or dog wakes me up, have very little headaches and back pain. I really do like mine and wish I could get one for each of my 3 kids. One benefit for me is that the matress helps keep me warm. I usually use an electric blanket and even with the record cold temps we are having right now, I am not using the electric blanket. Just a fleece throw and light weight goose comforter.

I have a Select Number and love it. Sometimes my back gives me issues so I love that I can adjust the firmness of it depending on how my back feels. I plan on getting a king sized one when Aaron and I get married so that we can each put it to our own firmness.

Some people have issues with the crack in the center where the two sides meet. I've never had a problem with that. The one problem I have had is that when I go to hotels or somewhere else, I have a much harder time sleeping because it's just not my bed.

We have a tempurpedic. It is awesome! We went from having back pain every day to waking up refreshed and feeling great. Yeah, it's expensive, but really worth it.

we have a tempurpedic and, frankly, neither of us is crazy about it. Then again, neither of us has back pain to deal with.

as someone mentioned, it retains heat. That bothers my DH. I am the type that does not like to stay in one position all night and I think the bed tends to work better for someone who moves less - it is slow to "bounce back". I don't care for the firmness. It does tend to wear in places and you can not flip it like a regular mattress, in order to even things out a bit - you can only turn it around - KWIM?

Thankfully, I won it a couple years ago in Ellen's "12 days contest" so we aren't out all that money.

I believe Tempurpedic now has a bed that is a combo of Tempur and sleep number types.....not sure though.

We have one,and its great! it comes with a 20yr warrenty and it should not wear down in spots.

We have a Bob-o-Pedic too! And I totally LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!! Not only do I love the mattress, we also have the Power Bob, it makes the head and feet rise! It was an anniversary gift from my husband last June and it's the best gift I've ever gotten. It is so comfortable and I've never slept better.

Oh also to note: My husband got the 'firm', which was a tad too firm for me, so I went to Bed Bath & Beyond and got a pillowtop mattress topper, and it has been heaven ever since!

I LOVE my Tempurpedic! We got ours when I found out I was pregnant, and it helped so much through the pregnancy, and even still it's AWESOME!

I think my mother has the sleep number, and swears by it, but I'm sticking with my tempurpedic.

Bob O Pedic here also. I actually miss my bed when we go on vacation. I LOVE it. I have RA and I've really felt a differance in my shoulders from this bed.

My husband used to wake up every morning with back and neck pain.....................not anymore, not since we bought the Temperpedic.
We love it, best money ever spent. We bought the pillowtop model, so comfortable I can't wait to get in at night. It actually makes you go ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh when you lay down.

OHHH Yeah, I forgot to mention the pillows! I have recently acquired one, and it has contributed to my heavenly sleeping, lol. It is THE best pillow I have ever used in my life.

The Bob-o-Pedics are nowhere NEAR that price!!!!!

We have had one for 3.5 years and love it! My husband used to snore regularly and stopped once we got this mattress. He resumes snoring on hotel beds so I know it has something to do with the Tempurpedic.

I was pregnant with my 2nd kid at the time we got it, and it was June, but it never made me hot. I'm pregnant again now and don't have issues with the heat either, but I do find that it really helps me sleep comfortably, whereas in hotel beds I need a ton of pillows all around me for support.

We got a more firm model of the bed (don't remember the name right now) and my mom got one around the same time, but she preferred the softer, pillowtop model. We also got one for my daughter when we moved her out of a toddler bed 2 years ago and we just picked the basic model for her. The basic model is, obviously, the cheapest, so don't be scared off by the $8K price, as they have a wide range.

And they should never wear down in spots. To the poster who has that problem, I would definitely call Tempurpedic as there is a warranty on the bed.
