Anyone have a Roomba?

That sounds like one of my cats!!! LOL!!

Poor Aaliyah is scared of her shadow!

Oh, she looks like such a sweetie. :goodvibes We had a cat like that and she ended up, through perserverence, being the friendliest cat we ever had.

But anyone who pet her - got seriously drooled on. :lmao:

Like others have said, it does a good job of light cleaning, but you'll still have to vacuum.
Also with all those cats and all that hair you'll need to take it apart and clean it really good every week or 2. Hair really ruins the life of the beater bar.

She is the sweetest thing EVER... just very shy and nervous. Everyone in my family has tried to adopt her from me but NO WAY... she's my baby. I think she'd do better in a one cat house, though... the others annoy her no end!

Thanks for the warning. 3 of my cats are longhairs so I guess I'll have to do that regularly!

We take ours apart every time we use it because of all the hairs. Since you don't have quite as many animals you would probably get away with every other time, but I wouldn't go too long. Make sure you take the brush and the other rubber thingy off (I'm so technical :p ) and get all the hair off.

I've thought about those Roombas, but then I thought....I'd probably have to clean out all the crap from the black holes under the sofas, huh? :rotfl2:

What I really need to help me with vacuuming is something that will pick up and put away all the socks and toys and backpacks and books and pillows and.....

Once that part is done, the vacuuming is easy!

I have one of those, it's called my ANAL son!

I would LOVE one of these, but I'm afraid it would leave my poor cats traumatized for life. :sad2:

How old is your son?

Would you believe her son is 13 (right Robin, or is it 12?)!!!!

I thought boys that age had a visual disturbance that prevented them from seeing anything that isn't a human female.

Hubby and I received a Roomba as a weding present two years ago. We LOVE him! We have the Roomba that has a home base, to which we bought the schedular. Roomba now vaccums every week day at 3:00 pm for an hour to where he then returns to his home base to recharge.

We love Roomba, but like other's have said, you will need to bring out the real vaccum every once in a while.

Believe me, he barely sees much else!! Yes, he's 13 but ANAL beyond belief. Let's put it this way, I have NEVER had to pick up a toy, a sock or one of his size 13 shoes, he's a neatnik like you wouldn't believe!!

Now his mother......can we say POLAR OPPOSITE???? Come on, I'm trying to find a method that will keep me from taking out the vacuum cleaner!!
:lmao:

I love our Roomba - it's great for dog hair and hard floors. Be aware though -when you first get it, you'll find your self sitting there the whole time, watching it, trying to figure out how it's figuring out how to clean your whole house in such a crazy pattern!! :teeth:

I second the quote about the scooba. Takes too long, and isn't as great. I'd rather spend 30 min with my Hoover Floormate and get it done...now that is another awesome machine.... :thumbsup2

I second the floormate. I love mine. I don't use it very much anymore because the brush is worn and I can't find replacements!

And as for the pattern of the roomba, I can't figure that algorithm out. It always amazes me that it can be so random yet get every area in the room!

Actually my kids love watching the roomba so much that they now keep the floors picked up. It helped that Daddy told them the Roomba will vacuum up anything left out. How the Roomba can suck up a teddy bear I don't know, but the kids believe that it will suck up anything in it's path.

I've had my Roomba over a year & really like it. Like others said, it doesn't replace a thorough vacuum, but in my case, at least more vaccuuming is done than before. It's the closest thing to cleaning fairies I've got. :wizard:

So are you all pleased with its performance on wood floors? What does it do if it gets stuck and you're not there to retrieve it, does it leave marks on the floor? I'm really glad to hear that many of you are happy with it. Thanks! :sunny:
