castleview said:I LOOOOOOVVVVEEEE my Roomba. I turn it on and go run errands. The trick is to use it every few days. You can't go two weeks without vacuuming and expect it to do a decent job. Mine has survived my 19 month old son, legos, crayons, barbie shoes, etc. Go for it - it's been great for my house.
Nicolepa said:My dh just bought me one and I am pleasently surpised by how well it works. I only need to pull the big vacuum out every week or so. Every morning on my way out I set it to do a section.
Unfortunatly we got a bad battery or something with ours because after 2 weeks it stopped working. I have been going thru roomba withdrawals! But we should get a new battery from the company (under warrenty) soon.
Now the Scooba is a bust. Dh loved the Roomba so much he got a Scooba and that thing is not doing much more than wetting the floor. It is definitly going back!

They are so good for the hair--really the best part about them. I have 4 cats and 2 dogs. I only wish it could climb up on the couch where the dog sleeps and clean there.

Make sure the battery works well and that you have virtual walls. We only have one good virtual wall and use something else to block the openings since we have bad luck with our virtual walls. We have 2 batteries, which is good so we can run the Roomba back to back. We also have a quick charger.
I am so glad the hear that the Scooba does a bad job! Sorry for those of you who have it, though. I want one for my kitchen, but it's a laminate floor, so on the forbidden list. I was tempted to get one and only use it when I'm home, making it sure it didn't malfunction and spill liquid on the floor. But now that I know it doesn't work well I'll skip that expensive purchase.

Mine tends to get stuck and then whine pathetically until someone rescues it.
I think it's the oldest version out there, so I'm sure the new ones are much smarter.![]()
