Someone mentioned it as their favorite offsite restaurant so I checked it out on the web. Seems like it may be pretty good. Does anyone have an opinion?
Sure, we live in Orlando and have one five minutes from us. We love it - our favorite BBQ joint. I can't really think of anything off the top of my head that we *don't* like, and the baby backs are fantastic.
If you post this on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions Board you might get more responses, as that is the board for off-site restaurant questions. I'm surprised the moderator who responded to you did not mention this.

I usually like to let people see what kind of responses they can get from this board for local restaurants before I say anything, as I know there are plenty of locals/other who never visit the other board.

Actually, that was my first choice but when I went to that forum the questions were mainly about hotels. I thought I would get more responses here...and quicker. If it needs to be moved, go ahead. I'll find it.
We love Bubbalous! It's just the best barbecue around and amazingly a full rack of baby backs (with sides yet!) is still only $12.95. I can't help you out with the fried seafood but believe me, the barbecue is absolutely the best!
Bubbalous is a must stop for my family on every trip to Orlando. My entire family loves the baby back ribs. We eat dinner there one nite and take a few pounds of pulled pork and some beef brisket to go for later in the week (we rent a house and can store it in the fridge). I've heard from others that their fried seafood is good but if you are going to a BBQ place, go with the specialty!
I know that there are several locations but we always eat at the one that is closest to Universal Studios.
From WDW, take I-4 East to the exit for Kirkman Road Northbound (It's exit 75. I'm just not sure if it's 75A or 75B, sorry.) Follow Kirkman past the entrance to Universal. Stay on Kirkman and you'll be on an overpass over another road. At the next light make a left on to Conroy. (There's a Publix on the left corner.) Bubbalou's is in the first strip mall on the left side. It's worth the trip!

We have one about 10 minutes away (near UCF) and you know I have NEVER been there.... I get as far as Sonny's for quick drive thru or Smokey Bones and don't look any further. I always forget that they are there... it's further than I normally go in that direction! I'll have to give it a shot next time I''m in the mood for BBQ (which happens every time I ride Spaceship Earth)
Well, I do take that back -we went to a graduation party that was catered by them and it was excellent.....

Ok so if we were driving our hire car from Royal pacific hotel ( by Universal) how long should it take? Or could we get a cab? How much would a cab be please roughly?
Is it casual dinning? I guess so seeing its a BBQ? Can anyone tell me what its like, in terms of dress.
Mac donalads.... shorts and T shirts
Bahama Breeze............. smarter trousers and smart T or casual shirt
Thanks we leave in 2 days for 3 weeks of fun in your SUN !! it raining in the UK
I'm sorry I can't help with cab fare but it takes less than 10 minutes to get from Universal/RPR to Bubbalou's. It's probably a little over a mile away.
It's a shorts and tee shirts kind of casual. You go up to the desk to place your order and then they bring it to you. We're talking picnic tables with big rolls of paper towels on them! You can eat inside or outside.
