You're welcome! I believe it also comes with a sprinkling of powdered sugar. I found this pic on the web. I will tell you that we made a trip back to Kona Cafe for the Tonga Toast because we didn't have it the first time we went for breakfast. Now I can't wait to go back to WDW so I can get another TT fix! =)

I tried posting another picture, but it didnt work.
I can tell you the Tonga Toast is wonderful though. :D

I never had Tonga Toast, but it looks very very good. We will be going to the Kona Cafe just for it. Could any one explain, how it exactly taste. It looks like a big brick of toasted bread. It just doesn't look like the best thing. But, don't judge a book by it's cover, right. Thanks

Tonga Toast is sweet, so sweet that you probably do not want to use syrup. It's only sweet at the one end where the banana is stuffed in. Really, it's heavenly, and if you get some sausage or bacon to balance out the sweet, you are good to go. Here's the recipe so you can get a better idea about how it's made.

Christa

Ingredients:

2 or 4 slices sourdough bread, cut 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick
1 banana
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
oil or shortening for frying
whipped butter and/or syrup

Method:

Cut a 1-inch pocket in one side of each bread slice. Cut banana in half crosswise, then split each piece lengthwise. Remove peel and stuff two pieces of fruit in each pocket of bread; set aside. Mix sugar and cinnamon; set aside. Mix together well the egg, milk and vanilla.

Heat about 4 inches of oil in a pan to 350º F. Dip stuffed bread into egg/milk mixture and let it soak a few seconds to let penetrate bread. Fry bread on both sides in hot oil until lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels or wire rack. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and serve.

You made a big mistake given me the recipe! I'm going to have to make it for breakfast now. LOL Thanks

Hahah! Can I come over? I may have to make it one weekend, too, because I'm not sure I can wait until my next trip to have more Tonga Toast!

The Tonga Toast is great, but for us it's definitely too sweet for syrup and pretty sweet overall. Usually, one of us orders the TT and the other orders Eggs Benny (or something similar) and then we split our two orders. For DH and I that's the perfect compromise.

I looked on the DIS menu database for this to price it and did not find it. Why??

Thanks for info.
