Anyone have a Maytag Fridge?

As a follow up to my Sears thread yesterday we are now looking at Maytag refidgerators at Lowe's. My BF thought he heard the quality of Maytag has gone downhill in recent years. Does anyone here have any experience with them?

I have the Maytag Ice 2 O and it is a little dissapointing.
Especially the icemaker (clogs easily, shoots ice across the room when it dispenses etc...)
The two maytag appliances I have (washer and fridge) are both not my favorites. Maybe I have finally learnt my lesson.

We have a Maytag refrigerator, it was here when we bought the house. I don't like it at all. I used to have a fridge I loved but left it with our old house since the new house was only 1 year old and had new appliances. I love my Maytag washer and dryer but I also heard their refridgerators were not up to the same quality.

My mom used to be a huge believer in Maytag. Over the last 6 years, she's replaced all her 20+ year old maytag appliances with new ones. Without exception, all of the new appliances had to be repaired within a year. The washer, the dryer, the stove, and the fridge.

She's had the most problems with the fridge. It's only 5 years old, and she's had to have the repairman come at LEAST 6 or 7 times to fix things.

A word of advice: get the extended warranty. You'll need it.

I redid my entire kitchen last year in Maytag and LOVE them. We went with the ice 2 O fridge, and Gemini stove. They've been without problems so far

I have all Maytag appliances and haven't had any major problems with them.
