Anyone have a golden doodle that vommits a lot?

Wow this is my dog to a tee.
I will go back to elavated bowl. And try the multiple feedings
Cause I think she does have trouble getting food to her stomach.
Just be careful about the elevated bowl because this can introduce air into the stomach and make things worse. The danger with this condition (aside from the inconvenience and discomfort of vomiting daily) is aspiration (inhalation) of food into the lungs. If that hasn't been happening, I might leave well enough alone as far as feedings go. I would still continue to investigate whether this, or another type of structural or medical issue, might be the cause.

Not a labradoodle, but my Jack Russell Terrier has been throwing up almost daily for about 2 months now. She has severe anxiety and we assume it is from that but recently I believe it may be a food allergy or sensitivity. We had a round of tests done and the Vet found nothing. She mainly does this at night, in the middle of the night, but will get sick other times as well.

In the past we have found she has not been eating enough so maybe I will revisit this theory too.

I'm at my wits end with this!!

I don't know what you feed your dog but we had trouble with two of our larger breed dogs throwing up Science Diet. You might try feeding something homemade for a couple weeks then start him on a different food. We have had good luck with Natural Balance.

I have made food from boiled chicken and rice. Keep it low salt. Ask you vet how they feel about trying this out and see if you get some other food suggestions. Try to keep treats and people foods to a minimum. We found rawhide dog chews didn't always agree with our dogs. You might have to try an elimination diet to see if he reacts to any one thing. Good luck.

I'm not sure I agree that goldendoodles aren't a breed. They aren't recognized as a breed by the AKC but they are just the same as every other breed....each recognized breed is a mix of different breeds till they get the results they want. The dogs are bred over and over until you arrive at what we now recognize as pure bred dogs. So, in time I wouldn't be surprised if they are recognized. Do you know if a goldendoodle can be bred with another goldendoodle and what the pups are like? Just curious.

Yes they can. Here is a link to help explain different generation crosses.

http://goldendoodles.com/faqs/generations.htm

Reading the link (very interesting) a goldendoodle CANNOT be considered a purebred (for the op asking) since they tend to *back cross* a goldendoodle to a golden or a poodle. For them to be considered a purebred you have to breed goldendoodle to goldendoodle all the time...that link suggests otherwise.

We had a bulldog that did this. He had several issues. We found out late in his life that his esophagus was too small - about the size of a drinking straw. In addition, the opening from his stomach to the intestinal track was too small. He had to have soft food - dry food watered down worked for us. He gobbled up the canned food too fast. We had to pace his eating and he took a drug called Reglan (I think) to help aid in the digestion of the food.
