Anyone have a counter-height dining table?

Have one and love it...DH and I both have bad knees, and it's so nice not hurting when I get up from the table.

The only thing I'm changing is that the seat cushions are white-getting black naugahyde and covering them soon.

Here's a picture of it: (I had to show my yaya sisters what I was talking about!)

If you have someone elderly or disabled over during the holidays with a bad back or hip, who can't climb up on the chair, they will have to sit elsewhere during the meal while everyone else is at the table.:(
nah, that is why I bought it!! I am disabled and it is just perfect when yo have a bad back!!! and knees..my mom & dad even loved getting into it!
so I have had 4 disabled people sit on it. we all loved for not having to pull ourselves up!

We had one in our old house but we moved and it doesn't fit in the new house. So my beautiful table is down in the basement, collecting dust. :sad2:

Are these chairs not as high as high bar stools? Maybe I'm getting confused as to the height.

I think that counter height has 30" chairs and bar height has 36" chairs. We were looking to order from a manufacturer, and that's the difference they listed.

My chairs are 30". Not too high for my Mom, who has residual effects from the Polio she had in the 1930's. Mobility can be an issue and she liked the height, too.

Where did you get your table? It's beautiful! I love the pattern and colors in the table top.

It came from Haverty's Furniture. Last I checked, they didn't have it on the website. Behind it is the matching buffet they offer. I didn't get it because I didn't think it held enough.

ETA: Just looked at the website, and they've revamped in the last month. The table is called "Aris". www.Havertys.com

I'm sitting at mine right now! I bought it (and the chairs) at an unfinished furniture store, and stained them to match my pine kitchen cabinets. I love it.

The best thing is I can use it for extra counter space if I need it, like when I'm preparing a holiday meal.
