My sister had a baby back in March, so he's 4 months old now. His head and neck are pretty darn strong, but still 'wobbly'.

I am thinking about getting him one of these, but I know no one that owns one, so I have no reviews to go by.

So, have any of you used one? What did you think? Do you think it would be good for a baby who is just starting to develop real neck strength?

My DD bought one for her DD, Zaida at 4 months of age. She really likes it.
Zaida is 5 months now and still using it.
Zaida is quite active (started rolling over at 2 months) and is starting to scoot a bit on the floor, so we really have to watch her when she's in her bumbo. I have no doubt she'd be able to squirm right out of that thing!

I'm sorry, have to laugh...I thought Bumbo was a typo and was really Bimbo.

:rotfl2: A BIMBO baby sitter?!!!! I'm sure many people have one of those! :cutie:

I had never seen one of these before until just recently.

I know someone who has a medically fragile child (she is now 13 months old) and she is just starting to use one of these. Here's what her dad said about it on his recent update:

Carissa seems fully recovered from the bug she had last weekend/early last week. She gets a little stronger each day. We are trying to get her in her 'bumbo chair' as much as possible. It is a sturdy foam chair that supports her back and legs but makes her sit upright. It is really helping her strengthen her neck muscles. Carissa cries when we bring it out, but once she is in it she does fine. She is enjoying Joshua's old toys and some new ones of her own with lights and textures.

I don't know if the picture will show up, will be a link, or just won't work, but here is Carissa in her chair:

The best thing I ever purchased!!!! My son wasd 10lbs 12oz at birth and by 3 mos had out grew his infant carrier. This went everywhere. I used it in restauraunts, church, home, we loved it. He was able to climb in and out himself by 10 mos but will still sit in it on his own. I now buy this for every baby shower I go to.

Thank you! What a little sweetheart princess:

I too know someone with a 'challenged' child that uses one. They really like it. I'd imagine it was recommended to them by the child's therpists.

I am going to look into this....my son is 4 1/2 months old and about 19 lbs. He is basically outgrown of his infant seat. He is very strong, but can't quite sit yet on his own. This might solve some of our problems......
