We've been looking at 2003 Ford Windstar, and was wondering if anyone has one. If so do you like it and if not why not. How are your payments. We went last week and we are gone to lease and they said $450.00 a month. I think that is totaly outrageous to lease a vehicle.

I have a 2001 Windstar (LX model with the features I wanted). I know many people like to bash them, but I'm very happy with it. IMO, if they are such unreliable vans, then why are there so many on the roads? ;)

The only thing that I dislike about the van is that the engine is noisy, otherwise I don't have any other complaints and haven't had any problems with. We have taken several road trips and it has been great for our family of 5.

I must say that $450 seems very high for a lease. My payment is under $400 with 0% financing, and it's NOT a lease. Did you look at a loaded model?

Good luck with your decision!

we have an 2001 limited addition Ford Windstar van and I love it, it is our second windstar, the only thing I dont like about it is the leather seats, I keep slipping in them:p so I guess I will have to buy a seat cover. other than that i love it.

and love it. We haven't had any problems with it thus far. (knock on wood) It had 21 miles on it when we bought it and now has almost 40,000 and still runs like a dream. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it isn't as roomy as it would seem. I have 3 kids, DD2 in a car seat, DD8, and DD10 and it's hard for the older ones to manuever into the back seat sometimes. Although it doesn't help that my DD10 is already 5'5!! I also agree that $450 for a rental is very high. Our payment to own is $418 and I can't remember the interest rate now. Good luck in whatever you choose.

We have a 99 (which we purchased in 01) & we love it. It's the SEL model which would be priced in the $40's if we purchased it new  but we purchased it used with only 20,000 miles on it & we got it for less than half of the original price. It's a dream...quiet as can be, smooth as can be & it has ALL the bells & whistles on it. I think my fave feature though is the automatic sliding doors on each side! With just the press of a button, one or both doors are sliding open!

This is our second "used" vehicle & we have had excellent cars both times. Our first was a 97 Explorer & now the 99 Windstar SEL. We'll never buy new again due to the price of cars today!

Regarding the $450 lease....that's for 2 vans, right??

We have a Ford Windstar 2001 SEL.

I really like how it drives. It's comfortable and for a mini-van, looks pretty good ;).

We've had a few problems. A problem with the power door not wanting to stay closed, our VCP has broken twice, the rear window wiper not wanting to work, and we had a major problem with the shifting of the gears. (I have no idea what that was, I'd have to ask DH, lol?). All of this was covered under warrenty. But still a huge inconvienance.

I think it has around 44,000 miles on it right now. We will probably keep it for another year?
