Anyone had the chicken choices at Sci-Fi?

Trying to figure out what to order for lunch here. Food reviews don't sound too promising, but the restaurant seems fun!:thumbsup2

I'm a pretty picky eater. The only meats I eat are turkey, ham, and chicken. But I'm picky about all of them. :sad2: I get squeamish if my meat is slimy (like the chicken found on cheap salads or cheap deli meat) and squeamish if my chicken is greasy or oily.

-I like chicken grilled and plain, so I could order the BBQ chicken sandwich and request it plain. Is this chicken grilled or fried?

-Hows the chicken caesar salad? Slimy chicken or decent quality?

-Hows the smoked turkey sandwich? Cheap slimy meat or decent?

Sci-fi was DBF's choice and I'm looking forward to the atmosphere. No big deal if I can't find much to eat, but I'd rather know what's gross beforehand so I can pick the "least gross":rotfl2:

I unfortunately do not have an answer for you, but I am the SAME EXACT way as you. Slimy chicken is enough to make me not touch chicken for a LONG time

I've had the Chicken Caesar salad and the chicken BBQ sandwich- the chicken in both cases was grilled, and DRY (no worries about slimy chicken- it was not at all greasy, either. Too well done for me, IMO). If you want to order the chicken sandwich without BBQ, I'd urge you to add some other type of spread (mayo, mustard, something), because without something to moisten up the chicken, that sandwich will be dry as the Sahara.

Uggh! It's horrible that I get so squeamish. I was vegetarian for over 10 years and I think that might be why I'm so picky about meat now.

Oh, thank you!:goodvibes I'll be ok with mustard. I'm picky about my condiments too:sad2:
I like mustard, salsa, and caesar dressing and that's pretty much it!

First let me say that I am not a picky eater and I love the Sci Fi. However, let's talk seriously about that food. I don't eat beef. First time, I had the Ceasar and it was not very good. I can get just as good of a salad out of the vending machines at work. So last time I had the bbq chicken sandwich. It was not good. Edible but not good. The chicken was extremely dry and the bbq sauce was not a very good quality--tasted like ketchup with a bit of spice added. So this time (2 weeks ago), I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich with a side salad instead of fries. I'm 50 years old and I think that's the worst food that has ever passed my lips. I could not eat. Yes, the turkey was like that slimy lunchmeat but even worse, the bread had to have been baked during World War II. Oh and lets not forget the salad. Cucumber, Watermelon (that was not ripe and had no flavor) and Red Onion.

The other 3 in my group had burgers and said they were very good.

I usually get the chicken sandwich and love it. Nice and juicy and I am sure you can hold all the sauce.

Thanks everyone, for your honest opinions!

I think you've all sold me on the grilled chicken sandwich, plain with mustard.
I can handle "good not great" (with one person saying they actually loved it!) I definately can't handle slimy deli turkey ( I gag just thinking about it-blech!) or vending machine quality salad. I also get grossed out by wilted unfresh salad vegetables.

Geez, you all must be thinking "she must be a joy to eat with":sad2:
I hate that I'm so particular.
