Anyone had problems with centipedes at POFQ?

This is my second time staying at POFQ and I've never had issues before but we discovered a small infestation of centipedes in our room tonight!

We found one yesterday in OUR BED! All snuggled underneath the covers. Eek! We thought the rain brought him in or something so we flushed him and forgot about it.

Then tonight, our last night, we see one crawling up the wall of our bathroom, then one crawling up the wall directly beside the bed. So after that I started searching the entire room. I found 9, some dead, some alive all over the room. In the corners, behind the tv, behind bedside table, along the walls. It really grossed me out.

I took pictures so I could at least send an email to Disney and let them know of the situation. I mean, this couldn't be just our room alone! Do I also need to go to the front desk and complain? We are leaving tomorrow so there is really nothing they can do for us now.

So sorry this has happened to you. :(

Please, please, please talk to a manager at the front desk before you leave! You can send your email to Disney and hope that they do something for you, but in the meantime please save the next unsuspecting guests from the same fate! :flower3:

Eeeeww!! I couldn't possibly sleep in that condition. I would have gone to the lobby and talk to the general manager and changed room, even if it's my last night there. I would send those pictures to the resort and carbon copy to the Disney company, to make sure someone will take care of the issue. I'd hate to see my favorite moderate resort become infested with bugs. I'm sorry you had bad experience on your last night at POFQ.

Agree with the PP. You need to report this to mgmt before you leave! Otherwise the next guest will get the same thing. :sad2:

I doubt the rain brought him in since they have to live in moist environments. If this was a true centipede and not an insect with lots of legs.

Yeah, I'm not really sure exactly what they were. Just a wild guess on centipedes. We saw a ton of snails on the walking paths after it rained so just figured it made all of the critters more active.

I told the manager about everything before we left today and he apologized and said he would block the room off and have an exterminator treat it.
