Anyone had opinions on cabin 1030?

I booked a Cat 11 and got "upgraded" to a window cabin (1030). Right next to the gang way (exit to land) on the 1st floor. Has anyone stayed on the 1st fl? How about near the gang way? I'm concerned about noise and engine heat. I assume this is over some of the mechanicals of the ship. I stayed on a Carnival years ago on the lowest customer level and the floor of the cabin actual was hot to the touch at night. Don't know if it was the engines, laundry, or what but it made for an uncomfortable cabin (85+ degrees overnight)

We've got 1036 and I was wondering the same thing...I hope someone has some info for us. cw

I don't think you'll have any problems with heat. For noise issues, check out the list of noisy staterooms on Dave's site at www.dcltribute.com
Also, rather than one large porthole, the staterooms on deck 1 have two smaller ones. I have photos on my website at www.castawayclub.com
I think you will enjoy being upgraded to a cabin with some sunlight.
