In our area Costco, the milk expiration date is usually just a couple of days after you purchase it. I don't like that. In the grocery stores, I can buy milk that has more than a 7 day expiration date on it so where has that milk that Costco sells been for all those days?
I always gauge milk that it can still be used for 5 days after the expiration date printed on the package. Even after that, though, I usually make cooked pudding with milk that has passed its expiration date so I don't have to throw it out.
