I was wondering if anyone has had a stroller stolen or taken by mistake, not a rental, but your own? My wife and I will be taking our own which happens to cost a bit. We don't want it to go missing. Please reassure us.

Yes, it has happened, but not to us. I would buy an inexpensive folding stroller if you are going to take your own.

Yep. Last March outside Mickey's Philharmagic.

It was an umbrella stroller with all sorts of lime green ribbons and stickers on it. We searched for about 30 mins and had a cast member helping us. Never did find it. We were taken to head of the line of Dumbo and given a free stroller coupon for the remainder of our vacation.

Get an umbrella stroller. 20 bucks is alot better to loose than 100.00 or more.

Yep...ours was snatched by someone who mistook ours for theirs...we were left with theirs...exact match, but actually in better condition.

If that was you...thanks!! LOL :earboy2:

Just wondering, are we allowed to lock them to anything? Like using a bicycle lock or something?

You can't lock them up. The CM's sometimes have to move them around.

This exact thing happened to us. I felt bad because their leather camera case (case only) was in the stroller they left behind. I looked, but there was no way to return it so we gave it to lost and found just in case they might check there.

Honestly, my experience has been that strollers get MOVED and cause a little bit of freaking out sometimes. We dont go to extra trouble marking ours, but tend to leave things that are not of value ON the stoller which keeps others from mistaking it for their own.

No, it is against fire marshall rules. Also, if it is found that way, they will cut the lock.

Strollers are probably the most common item that is reported as stolen or lost in theme parks. Many times, they are just moved and you can't find them, or someone else has mistaken yours for theirs. Unfortunately, you can have all kinds of identifying information on it, and still not recover it. NEVER leave your personal articles in a stroller when you go on or in an attraction. Also, do yourself a favor.... leave the $100 plus stroller at home... those big, usually expensive ones are usually not user friendly on the Disney busses or trams, as they must be completely folded up to get on. A nice inexpensive stroller for less than $30 bucks will do the job, be easier to maneuver when trying to hurry on and off transporation and you won't be hating yourself if something does happen to it. Either keep it as your designated park stroller or donate it to charity when you get home.

We've brought our Maclaren twice and never had any problems, well, except for a few tense moments when it was moved far away from where it should have been (we parked in the right place, not sure why it was moved). I really wouldn't hesitate to bring it again, though. It's lightweight, folds compactly, and has a strap to carry it on our shoulder. It also has a basket underneath. We already had this stroller, though. If your current stroller is a larger one, I would do as other posters said and buy an umbrella stroller. We went with a large stroller the first time (DS was an infant - it was a family trip) and it was a PITA.

But can you lock the wheels like put a bike lock through the spokes making it movable (by dragging to satisfy the fire codes) but not really usable for someone either stealing it or mistaking it for their own.

You can lock your stroller as previously mentioned, but not to anything. We've never had our stroller stolen, but one day it was pouring rain, so I bought a poncho and attached it to my son's stroller to keep the cloth seat from being soaked, well, we emerged from the Living Seas and guess what? Somebody had found a way to keep their child dry using our poncho. Poor DS had a soaking wet bottom for the rest of the day. This was three years ago and he still mentions it everytime we go to WDW.

Nope never stollen. We go to somewhere at WDW once a week. The only place I would not leave a stroller unattended is DTD. I usually tie something on the handle to identify it.
I went to Central Lost and Found to find my parent's camera, lost Jan 2nd. Their camera wasn't there, but wow, there were a bunch of lost strollers!

My sister brought her Bugaboo Frog stroller and left bags & souveniers in it all day. Noone messed with it.

I have taken mine 2 times and never got it stolen. I do hate when the crew members move it though.

Yes, our was taken , by mistake, I'm sure at POTC. Umbrella strollers were everywhere. I definitely would try to make some unique way to identify it next time. pirate:

This was my main concern in bringing our new $200+ Maclaren stroller, but we ended up having no problems with it-in fact, we saw sooooo many Maclaren's while we were there!
