i am wondering whether this is something i would have- it seems quite short for the amount you pay but the experience could be priceless

has anyone ever had a character join them- if so who and did they meet your expectations?

We had Mickey and Minnie at our wedding. I'm not sure how long they stayed but it was well over the half hour that we paid for.
It was a surprise to all our guests - and even my husband! Everyone's reactions were priceless!! No matter how old they were, their faces just lit up!
After Mickey and Minnie came to the head table and took pictures with us, all of our guests started taking pictures with them. Then we danced with them, cut the cake, and then went outside to take more formal shots with them.
It was great!! I LOVE the pictures we got and it made the event that much more memorable.
If you can squeeze a character into your budget, I would definitely do it!!

We really loved having Mickey and Minnie at our vow renewal reception!!! Every guest there got a picture with them. They helped us cut our cake and it is one of the few times you will get to see them both dressed in their formal wear! I would do it all over again if I had the chance to re-decide it all :goodvibes

We had Mickey- it was a big hit- he did pictures and autographs

He was there 30 minutes-and they were on the clock when time was up!

We are planning this for our November wedding. I couldn't imagine getting married at Disney and not having a character (although I do know it is expensive but something we feel is worth it as we will only be doing this once).

I was also wondering about having them take pictures with guests and maybe some autographs. We will be having about 4 or 5 kids at the wedding and I was thinking of getting something for Mickey and Minnie to sign for the kids (although I am sure the adults will want this too). I was thinking of a photo mat that they could sign and then giving it to the child so they could put their picture in it of them with Mickey and Minnie. I just don't want it to take too much time away from us being with the characters. I want to make sure my DF and I get lots of pictures with them.

We're having Mickey, and probably Minnie too if the budget will allow. We mainly want them for the guests, not really for us. We are going to have them help with the cake, have a dance, and take pics...but we are SO excited to see the faces of the guests!! We've told some, but NONE of the kids know!! It gives me happy-chills thinking about the moment they walk out!! :) Oh, and I'm making kid-goody-bags for the reception with goodies, crayons, coloring books, and im going to put autograph books in there with mine and DF's signatures on the first page!! lol (hey! We'll be Disney celebrities that day!!)

We will also be giving the kids at the wedding goodie bags with things in them to keep them busy during the wedding. I was thinking of autograph books also but most of the kids will already be down there 2 or 3 days before the wedding and they might have them already. I'll have to do some creative thinkings about what to give them to sign.

Good thinking about them having them already!! Hmm..you know...Staples, or any other office supply store, have book-making kits (like mini books)...im going to get creative in the next week and see if I can make a personalized book for the wedding autographs!! I'd hate to invest in Disney books and them already have them! lol

originally, DF and I weren't going to do this but last night he was telling me that he was playing around on the Wish Book and added Mickey and Minnie... I am super excited but now am wondering... I've seen different pics where they are wearing different outfits (i.e. mickey in tux and minnie in ivory, or minnie in purple or mickey in his red pants and dress coat with tails) Do we get to pic which outfit the characters come in or is it just whatever Disney chooses?:confused3

WE also kept it a secret from the guests...
EVERYone was so surprised, including the groom!

Yes, you get to pick. Our colors are red, white and black - my girls will be in red and our table cloths will be white with red napkins and our flowers will be red roses) so we are going with Mickey and Minnie in their regular outfits. To me that is more Disney and I think it will look great with our colors. Although I do love them in their "best dress" look also.

I am planning on having Mickey and Minnie at our wedding too! Also, because as said in another post...where else could you have Mickey and Minnie at your wedding?!?! I asked my mom and SIL "How could I NOT have Mickey and Minnie at my wedding!?!?!"
I'm having an Escape Wedding and there will be no real kids there (only kids at heart), but hopefully we'll just get to take lots of pics with them and hopefully will have time for our families to take pics as well.

I can't wait personally!! I think I would have them in their fancy outfits....even though our wedding is at SBP, it's still my wedding and I would love to get some pics of them in their fancy duds.

If it's doable for your budget, I definitely think you should go for it! If I could afford it, I'd have more characters there!!;)

We had Mickey and Minnie. The guests loved it and we got so many great memorable shots! It was a really special aspect.

Wow, Minnie looks so fancy!! :goodvibes I've only seen photos of her other (simpler) formal dress.

If we could afford it, I would love to have Donald & Daisy! I've seen pics from other Disbrides who had Donald & Daisy & they are so cute!

We are planning on having M&M at the reception. Originally I wasn't but I thought about how much fun the guests would have even if they think they won't. I made DF promise he's not allowed to tell anyone because I want it to be a surprise. I'm really excited.

I told a few people, but I don't think they believed me. At first I didn't think we needed the extra expense, but the DF said he wanted it (and I'm the Disney freak).

Now I'm excited about it, but I was thinking of possibly having different characters if possible. but my two year old niece loves Minnie. She runs over to hug her every time we see her in the park.

we are planning on having at least one at our VR so I plan on making special a autograph page for guests probably half page size and will use cardstock (approx. 5 by 7). I plan on using character images in wedding attire with wdw and VR date

i have to say we were against a character at our wedding also but i am so glas we did. it was soso mcuh fun and the guest just loved it. everyone did not stp smiling it was amazing a experiecne i will never forget.here are a few pics just for fun

My first reaction upon seeing the cost of Micky and Minnie was "They are so NOT invited to my wedding!" but after further consideration I just couldn't imagine being married in Disney without them. We were able to fit them in the budget and they will be there in their formal attire to help cut the cake and entertain guests after dinner. We're most excited to get to surprise the grooms father. He absolutely LOVES Mickey and we know he'll go nuts when he sees him.
