Anyone had a disney character at their wedding?

We had M&M as well. Only a few people knew about it in advance. Everyone LOVED them, even people who you wouldn't have expected. The funny thing was that my aunt asked us, "Did you know they were coming?" I was like, "Uh, yeah we had to pay for it!" :rotfl:

Hi
can I ask ? how much for one character ? and how long does he or she stays ?
I would'nt imagine getting married in wdw without mickey ;)
thanks

Has anyone had a characeter other than M&M? I mean I love them of course, but curious what "outfits" the others would have. It would be fun to see goofy in formal attire...

Someone on this board had posted their photo with Donald & Daisy, but I can't remember which lucky Disbride it was-? The photo was so cute!:goodvibes

originally, DF and I weren't going to do this but last night he was telling me that he was playing around on the Wish Book and added Mickey and Minnie... I am super excited but now am wondering... I've seen different pics where they are wearing different outfits (i.e. mickey in tux and minnie in ivory, or minnie in purple or mickey in his red pants and dress coat with tails) Do we get to pic which outfit the characters come in or is it just whatever Disney chooses?:confused3

I have actually been that person- done more weddings than I can count. By far the most popular is Mickey and Minnie together. They do different things depending on the package and what you plan to do. Typically they will help cut the cake, will dance with the bride and groom, and do pictures. For Intimate Weddings it was the bride and groom first dance while M&M danced with eachother, then Mickey danced with the bride and Minnie danced with the groom. The cake was cut, and pictures were taken.

Larger receptions are a little more variable. They typically do several dances, will help cut the cake, and do pictures. If you hava kid's room, let them know in advance so they can go visit- we don't like being informed during the last 5 minutes that we're expected to go to a kids' room nobody told us about.

As far as other characters, I have done two weddings with multiple characters. One was a vow renewal with M&M, Cinderella, Jasmine, and Buzz Lightyear. The other was a Japanese couple who travelled with no family. They had M&M, Donald and Daisy, and the Chipmunks.

As far as attire, there are different options. The most common is Minnie's yellow formal- Mickey's vest will always match Minnie's dress. I have also worn a holiday outfit, and several other color formals for non-wedding events. I'm not sure why the yellow formal is so popular.

This is a holiday wedding I did:

We had Mickey & Minnie and I can't imagine our wedding without them there. It was well worth the money. My husband, mom & I kept it as a surprise to all of our guests. Adults and children were smiling and laughing the entire time. It definitely seemed like they were there for longer than 30 minutes, but I don't know for sure. They danced with all of the guests, took pictures, and even signed our guest book! I didn't realize that they had different outfits, so our wedding planner, Marion Stewart (who is the BEST!), must have arranged it. It was definitely one of our highlights of the wedding- for my husband & I as well as our guests. The private photo session with them was great, too. How many girls can say they slow danced with Mickey Mouse on their wedding day?!

i would love one at our wedding but df doesnt want one. they are alot for the amount of time but I so would love one. But then I'm not sure whoe i would choose as I love them all!

Aww I have never seen Daisy before dressed up!!! I am having Donald, now I may have to have Daisy too!!

Is it true that you cannot have any of the Winnie the Pooh characters?

Also, has anyone had characters at thier DP instead of thier wedding?

yes i wanted tigger and read that you cant have them! i thnk its something to do with licensing

I have never heard the no Pooh characters rule, but in all my time in Entertainment I never once saw a Pooh Character for any special event, so it might be true.

There are crazy rules depending on the character and the licensing. For instance: Pixar characters from before the merger cannot appear with Disney characters. So at the vow renewal I mentioned earlier with Buzz Lightyear, Mickey, Minnie, Cinderella, and Jasmine went out first, and then Buzz Lightyear went out.

I'm SO Excited!

We just added Mickey & Minnie to our wedding :cheer2:

My dad wanted me to do it, but I'm not allowed to tell ANYONE, even DF! It will be so hard to keep the secret :cutie:

All this secrecy got me thinking: What if both people tried to book them to surprise the other one? I wonder how they would work that one out!

Good question! I know that won't happen with us, though! DF wouldn't touch the wedding plannning with a 10 foot pole, LOL

That is so fun! I am sure there were people surprised at my wedding too although a few people knew! Congrats on your big news :goodvibes

Unfortunately you can't have the characters at the DP. THey are not allowed at any outdoor locations. I guess this is so people don't run up to them and try to take pictures that aren't in the wedding.
