Evening all,
I'm currently using a Panasonic DMC-TS2 as my P&S of choice - lovely camera, beautiful shots and a good amount of manual control.
I'm thinking of upgrading my camcorder (hold on, I hear you say, that's not what the thread is about) to a Hi-Def one. In my general browsing around for a nicy Sony model to buy, I noticed that the replacement for my P&S, the new Panasonic DMC-TZ5, not only offers great features enhancing those already on my camera, but also mentions a full 30fps 720p Hi-Def video mode..... very tempting for the £200 GBP price tag, and would save me lugging two cameras around with me...
Anyone got one and can offer some of their experience of the photo and video sides? I know the quality will be great, and the advantage of a 10x optical compared to my existing 3x is very appealing in it's own right. BUT, they seem to have removed the manual Macro mode, claiming their auto-shoot feature does it for you. i'm dubious, and hoping someone can lay my mind at rest so to speak!!!!!
