A big part of the problem is that with Jerri's emotional problems I am not sure an actual visit to the Village would be a good idea. I will talk to her children's aid worker about it, but being the one travelling with her I have reservations. The added problem with transportation is that my mother and I are both reliant on scooters. I was really hoping someone might have ideas that she could do WITHOUT us having to use a parkday and of course there is a distinct possibility of ending up with a suicidal teenager in another country (we are Canadian). I guess that sounds harsh but this kid needs a chance to be a kid! She has never had that- she wears the weight of the world on her shoulders and that is the whole reason we want to take her with us, so we can show her some magic. She will be attending the funeral and is spending time with Jade's family today. She told me she thinks Jade died because she forgot to pray the night before. I am asking for suggestions to help Jerri do something for other children in Jade's position without her having to leave "a happy state of mind".
