Hi,

We're leaving for WDW on 12/7 for 7 days and didn't make any ADR's (three adults for two days, then just two for the rest of the week).

Has anyone else been recently without ADR's and had any success with table service? We have the DDE card, not the DDP, so it's not a big deal, but I was just curious.

Thanks

Pam

I'm sure you will be able to get TS restaurants but maybe not the ones you want. Places in the parks and other popular restaurants fill up fast and often do not accept walk-ups. You may have trouble if you would like to eat at some of these places

Chef Mickey's
Crystal Palace
Liberty Tree Tavern
Le Cellier
Most Character Meals
Boma
Rose & Crown

I'm sure you can get into some others and maybe even some listed above if you are willing to eat at off times like a 3pm lunch or a 8-9pm dinner

As long as you are willing to eat late, you will be fine. We missed one of our table service restaurants one night (for 5:15pm) and the next opening for our group of seven would have been around 7:30pm at Mara or even later at some other places (walk ups at Concourse Steakhouse or Kona were 1.5 hour wait at 5:15pm).

Going around the same time and made some, but not all adr's. Forget about Le Cellier and CA Grill during prime times. Other than that, you should be able to swing a good deal of your meals.

We went earlier this year and had no ADR. We were at Epcot and went in to the office under Space Ship Earth (not sure what they call that...customer service?) and the super nice CM helped us set up ressies for the whole week plus talked us into Pirate and Princess Party which was terrific. Yes, we ate earlier some nights then we would have but that was fine. It was nice to have a plan and we got to try some great restaurants we hadn't even thought about before. popcorn:: Good luck!

It can be done ... but forget about Countries like France, Japan, or Canadia's- Le Cellier, and think more 3rd rate countries like Kazakhstani

:rotfl2: sorry just thought it was funny... but seriouly you might find some new favorites.... keep's One from picking the same top-5 everytime they go. Makes it an adventure

If you want a character meal, try swan/dolphin for 8 am breakfast. They do not provide adr's. Good luck

mjallyn, this is a great idea. Can the CM's actually see what is available during the week we are there? It would be so much easier to see what is available rather than asking for something they probably don't have!

Thanks!

Yes, the CM was able to see what was available where and when. We told him how long we were there for and he set about finding places for us to eat. We even had one dinner at the Grand Floridian with Cinderella and her crew! Many meals were at resort restaurants but we also ate at the Corral Reef and Teppanyaki Dining Room In Epcot.

At first I was a little disapointed we were eatting at the hotels but honestly I got over that quickly. The food was terrific every where we went and it was fun to see the other resorts.

Like I said we often had early dinners (5:00 ish) but that was fine. It gave us a chance to sit and take a break before hitting the parks for the night.

Favorite treat...Creme bruele (sp?) at the Contemporary Concourse Steak House. Get it. You won't be disappointed!

Have fun and good luck!

I'm going to offer a differing opinion. The last two eyars I have been the first or second week in December; we were not able to get ANYTHING (did not try GF restaurants) for walk up or ADRs. Many Epcot places told us at 11:00 a.m. that they were not accepting any walk ups--period.

I made my ADRs on the 180th day for our Thanksgiving week trip. One of them was for Liberty Tree Tavern at 6 pm on the evening before Thanksgiving. Right before we checked in, a party of 3 without reservations was seated immediately, which floored me. (By the time we left at 7, the place was packed.)

We had an 8 pm ADR at Chefs de France one evening. It was busy but before Illuminations was over (about 9:10 pm) there were lots of seats available-even window seats.

We had a princess lunch at Akersus....they were not taking any walkups.

We had 1 pm ADRs at the Plaza. By the time we left (about 2 pm) the place was half empty.

We just got back and yesterday 11/26, I was able to do a walk up at 3pm at the Coral Reef - table for 4. They had a lot of tables open at that time, but when we left, around 4 pm it was getting crowded. I think if you try at "off times" it might work, just don't count on anything!

We devided to forego our 'Ohana reservation for a Halloween Party evening (we were staying at Portofino Bay at US) to enter the park at 4. As we walked by LTT DH suggested I see if they had a table for four. I laughed , told him I had tried for weeks with no luck. Walked up, asked and we were told to come back at 5:30. We were seated by 5:45. It can happen, although we have found it's rare.

We are iin WDW now, 11-28, and we had some ADR before we came down, but couldn't get a lot of what we wanted because we booked late. When we got here on Mon. we checked with the desk, and got Hoop De Doo for Friday
at 5pm. We also have changed ressies through the desk without any problems twice. We were at Chef de France Monday for 11am lunch, and someone walked up asking for a ressie for 4 for 11am, and she was given 11:05. I can't imagine everything anyone wants is available at the times they want, but we ate at Flying Fish tonight at 6pm, and it was not crowded-they were taking walk ups. Again, I'm sure not everything is that easy, but so far it has been good.....Vicki

Just came home last week from our trip to Disney (we had no ADR's either). Checked with the customer service counter at Downtown Disney and we were able to get Coral Reef (for a later lunch) that same day! (for 8 people) I would keep checking back as they get cancellations all the time! Good luck!
