Anyone going to the 12:00 showing of

SSB is wishing that he had now, reading all of the above.

Went to the midnight showing of "Episode One", as was lucky enough to be quoted in USA Today. I figured chances were good that not many people would be sending them emails at 3am ... haha!!!

Looking forward to seeing it soon!!!!

I didn't go at midnight but I'm going to the 7:55 showing tonight. Would go earlier but we havr to move out of the dorms today. I can't wait!!

I went. Loved every second. Would have watched it again if they would have shown it. I've read the books (several times) and yet I was still on the edge of my seat, biting my tounge to keep from yelling at the screen, holding my breath during battle scenes. And I knew what was going to happen. :teeth: I will be seeing again as soon as I get some sleep

Went to the 11:45 morning showing- OMG! It is so incredible! I got more tickets for tomorrow evening- I'm driving an hour each time to get a good theatre with stadium seating.
Take tissues- I haven't heard such sobbing or laughter or cheering since E.T.(and this is so much better). I agree if Peter Jackson doesn't get an Oscar, it is not worth watching them ever again. As one reviewer put it,

"Since seeing it myself, nearly everyone I know has asked me,
"Do you think it will win the Oscar? Is it the best film of
2003?" To that, I can only say that "The Lord of the Rings"
films exist outside of cinema for this viewer. I can't
adequately judge this amazing and truly special achievement
in comparison to more conventional, albeit strongly
deserving films like "Mystic River." The trilogy is just
something you set aside from everything else and say, "OK,
there are movies, and then there is 'The Lord of the
Rings.'"

:teeth: ::yes::

I'm paying for it today, but DD and I are so glad that we saw the 12:05am show. We both thought the movie was terrific and were only mildly disappointed that they couldn't have included more scenes from the book. I don't know what the extended version time will be, but now I can't wait for it to come out. Peter Jackson and his team did an amazing job adapting the book to a screenplay. I hope it entices more people to read Tolkiens.

Gonna go and see if I can buy advance tickets today for a show on saturday...

Elijah Wood was on Conan Obrien last night...Funny how he talked about people mistaking him for Harry Potter..

I saw it at midnight and it was awesome!! It was really cool to be watching it with so many other fans, and it was really cool at school yesterday because I had seen it before almost all of my friends!

It's kind of strange though...I think the movie was incredible, especially the battle sequences. But one of my friends (who has a reputation for being super obsessed with LotR) and I were talking about it, and we were kind of disappointed. We're both big fans of the books as well, and we felt like the movie really strayed from the book on some important plot elements. And I know of a lot of people who didn't like the ending...one of the first endings is really cheesy. Of course, I don't like the ending of the book either, so I guess I shouldn't have expected to like the end of the movie.

But I definitely think that RotK better win several Oscars this year...it's an amazing movie. I'm probably going to see it again this weekend, and I'm hoping that maybe I'll like it more the second time. I also can't wait for the extended DVD!

Pete's Mom: they did the triple feature in several cities...they were calling it "Trilogy Tuesday." I wanted to go, but the closest one was on the other side of town, I would have had to leave school early, and no one wanted to go with me!

Apparently many things will be added into the extended DVD version, including Saruman.

I went to that 12:00 am showing.........glad I did..........I was determined to see it before anyone could blow the ending for me.........I LOVE LOTR...................tee hee
