Anyone going to BOTH MNSSHP & MVMCP? How are lines for SDMT?

Wow that is a lot of acronyms! I'm attending a convention and am going (for now) SOLO to WDW for four nights including 10/31 MNSSHP party and then 1 day after the convention ends I'm heading back to Boardwalk for the first night of MVNCP on 11/8. Are lines for Mine Train manageable (like under 20 minutes) say after the parades end? Any experience from last year? Thanks

That certainly was NOT our experience. We went to MVMCP the week before Christmas in 2015 (a Tuesday night I believe), and lines for the new mine train were horrible. First I went over there about an hour before the Frozen castle show which we wanted to see, but the line was running about an hour long, so so much for that plan. Take 2 was to try to get on during the first parade. Everyone is at the parade right? No -- again the line was running about an hour. So we did some other attractions instead so that we could make it to the second parade. So then finally after the second parade was over I headed over for a third time. This time line was about 45 minutes long, so we waited. After that it still hadn't reached midnight, so we ran over to Space Mountain and got two rides in. It was the one other ride on our list we hadn't gotten too. Then we shopped at Main Street USA and got home at about 2 a.m. I think for attractions that rope drop is far superior to party time. Although my only party experience was this one party, and it was a sell out.

We are doing both parties (and MHP at DLR too) so excited!
Not too worried about rides during the parties just special party stuff

Thanks- looks like FP+ is an absolute must for Seven Dwarves. It happens that I am going solo (before and after a convention) however I invited my DD24 and DS27 to join me- but we were there last year and my kids (!) not too keen on going back to the World! Oh well..

Last year I did MNSSHP during the food and wine fest. I was able to get on the mine train twice during the party towards the end of the night. One time we got no time to stop in the que

FP isn't available during the parties.

Last October at the Halloween Party, maybe 45 min. before the first parade, we got on 7DMT in about 30 minutes. We could have had a shorter wait; just after the official start of the party, we passed by the ride and there was no one in the external queue! We made a mistake and headed for Tomorrowland instead.
So I would recommend heading for that ride when the Party starts, because that is when lots of people are leaving the park. If you see no one outside, run in there. You might only wait 15-20 min. or less.

By the way, even if you see a queue outside, the wait won't be as long as usual, because there's no FP+ to slow down the line during the Party.

We did the MNSSHP last year............the lines for 7DMT were not more than 60 minutes on our night. (but that can change depending on the night and crowd)........the real lines at the parties are for the photo M&G's. We waited 2 hours for the 7 Dwarves. We knew it would be like that. We got in line at 5:30 and got to them at 7:30 (not bad given the M&G opened at 7pm).

Bottom line is its a crap shoot for 7DMT!

Doug :goofy:

Last year we went to both (MNSSHP and MVMCP) and the posted wait was about 40 minutes for most of the party. That being said, actual was about 20 minutes and after 11:30 it was maybe 5 minutes.

you can use FP with a party ticket between the hours of 4 and 7-- so get one forr 4, 5 and 6

We did both parties last year and there was moments that the 7dmt was around 20 minutes but it was brief moments. the rest of the park was pretty much a walk on once it got a little later. halloween a little later was needed due to kids running to trick or treat at every spot so they spread out more and rode things all over.
