Hi,

It's hot July and I'm dreaming about our Feb "get out of the snow and gloom" vacation! It seems sort of silly right now, but I know I'll feel differently in a couple months! We are planning on doing a couple days in Disney and the week in Vero. Trying to get the plan figured out, because next week it's time to make some calls and do the 7 month shuffle. Actually this time I'm being daring and didn't book our home resort at 11 months. So no back up here! No switching, just booking or waitlisting. Wish me luck!

Anyone else going during Pres. Wk?

Hi, lisareniff. Yes, I'm doing a 9-night stay including Presidents' Week. My sister and 2 nieces (9 & 7 by then) will join me for 8 nights. I have a standard 1BR at BWV reserved. But I'm having pangs as the 7-month window approaches. I know that my sister and nieces would LOVE BCV and would really enjoy SAB. (They've been to BWV before.) But it would mean using quite a few more points, and I can't bring myself to do it so far.

Anyway, good luck to you getting your dates reserved!! :wave2:

Thanks for reminding me! I've got VWL booked but I'm thinking of switching to BWV or BCV since this trip we'll be spending a lot of time at Jellyrolls and Rose n Crown!!

We are booked at "Home" (VWL) for 2/18 to 2/25

Have the ressie we want .. and not looking to switch. We love our home!

We are booked at the BWV 2/19 - 2/24. I think we are going to add a couple of days at a different resort (either AKL or a monorail - haven't decided) to extend our stay a bit.

Thinking about an OKW stay, guess I better decide so I can get it booked. Last year I waited too long and couldn't find a villa.

We are doing a 9 night stay as well starting on the Wed. before (2/15) Pres. Day. A good long vacation. 3-4 nights at the Poly? or VWL then 5-6 at Vero.

I know what you mean about indecision, last trip I want back and forth between BCV (home and booked) verus VWL (need to waitlist). In the end we stayed at BCV.

Mouseclick1, in Feb we did an AKL/BCV trip that was great. We loved AKL and would definately do that combo again. Although we did do concierge with the sunrise safari. Next trip we will give the Poly a try.

We're going for a long weekend to celebrate DD's 2nd b-day but we are staying at our home resort-we figured we should at least SEE what we bought!

We're doing Feb Vacation week too. I nailed a cheap direct flight for the way down ($83 one-way from Boston) by staying up until midnight and calling at 331 days. Of course then I forgot to call on our preferred return flight until too late (10 in the morning on day-331) and got stuck paying regular Feb vacation fares (>$300 one way). Still, we're pleased with the deal.

We're doing VB over Pres Day weekend (2/17-2/21) to avoid the worst of the WDW crowds. I went out and rented some VB points so I could reserve at 11 months.
Then after the rest of the world goes home from WDW, we'll do the rest of the week there, doing BWV Std View, reserved at 11 months (day-by-day). No plans to switch at 7 months for us, tho we flirted with doing VWL this time. We're meeting some friends at BWV, and are looking forward to showing off our home resort. We keep meaning to stay other places more, but those Low Points for Std View keep us coming back.

Hey Pumpkinboy! I was wondering if you would come around and pay a visit. Great price on the flight down! The way back ... ouch! We fly from Rochester NY, so we know high prices. What airline do you fly? Our only non-stop to MCO is a daily run by Airtran. We could drive to Buffalo for Southwest but driving in Feb isn't always a sure thing in the land of lake effect snow. Since my oldest is still only in 4th grade we will have her miss a couple days of school to go at not so prime time, but still the non-stop. Love that non-stop! ...especially in Feb when so many things can go wrong with the weather.

We are planning on going to VB 2/18-2/23 or 24 in two OVIR's, so we will see you at the beach! We see if it happens this week. I remeber you renting the Vero points back about 4 months, when I choose to gamble with the ressie. I did call a couple days ago and they did have IR's available for the week. So it is looking good so far.

Well, Lisa, I expect you'll see us on the beach, in the pool and in the Inn, since we've also got the Ocean View inn rooms.

From Boston, we have lots of great non-stop alternatives from Delta's Song unit (our fav'), Jet Blue and American out of Logan Boston (14 miles from our house), and also Southwest out of Providence RI (50 miles away) and Manchester NH (55 miles away). But frankly, I'll take Song if I can, or if that's too pricey, I'll look at JetBlue and that's about it.

See you there!

We'll be there! I currently have a 1 BR at SSR for Sun-Thurs, but I'm thinking about switching it to VWL. I wish that I had more time to decide, as we'll be staying at both SSR and BCV in August and I may not even want to switch to the WL in the end. I'm also thinking about adding a Fri/Sat Poly stay prior to our DVC stay. The airfare is frightening right now though!

Hi! Right now we have a 1 bedroom booked at OKW for 19th-24th, only wanted to use weekday points. I am going to call next week and try for a 2 bedroom lockoff as we want my father to join us to celebrate his 80th birthday. I was going to just add a studio for him, but since they can not guarantee his room would be near ours, I thought I would try for the 2 bedroom. Hopefully, we get it!!

Divamomto3: I am with you. The airfare is awful right now!! I do not have experience with winter flights, as we usually fly to Orlando in the summer, when airfare is quite reasonable. Is there any chance it might go down as we get closer to the dates?? I guess I will keep checking and hope. If we left on the 20th, we would save $330 for the three of us, but then we would have to use a lot more points for the Friday night stay, so I think we will keep the original dates and hope for the best in airfare.

Good luck everyone with your plans. :wizard: :sunny:

Well I got my first two nights!! Sat and Sun of Pres. Weekend - also Daytona 500 weekend. I thought these would be the hardest to get so it should be down hill from here!

disgirll, I know what you mean about indecisions! DH calls me the queen of indecision! I try to leave my options open as long as possible, have fall back plans, etc. Nothing ever is final! LOL! Right now I'm second guessing myself about the 2 Ocean View Inn Rooms vs. a 1 or 2 bedroom at vero! I really want to book both! It doesn't help that my DD9 got this stricken look when I told her no 2 bedroom!

Just wanted to report back that I was able to secure 2 OVIR's at VB with no waitlisting! Wahoo! However, I did call day-by-day by 10am.

Congrats Lisa. That is great. I just called this morning and got my 1 bedroom at OKW changed to a 2 bedroom lockoff so dad and possibly my brother can join us to celebrate Dad's 80th birthday.

Have a great trip everyone!! :sunny: Now, I just have to hope for the airfare to go down. It is really expensive President's week! :scared1:
