Any cruises as a solo traveler? How do you go about doing that? I would love to go on a disney cruise but I am unsure how to book a cruise without spending an arm and a leg?
Help.............................

I'm going solo Dec 2007 in a GTY Cat 12

I have 15 more months to pay everything off. So I can jus put money towards it as I go along.

i would be interested to see the posts to this thread. i am a mom who is 'running away from home' in september-traveling alone on a 3 night celebrity cruise. it is costing me double what it would if i had someone else traveling with me (and shareing costs) but the idea of an entire cabin to myself with no cartoons on the tv, noone knocking on the bathroom door while i'm taking a bubble bath, staying in my pj's for the whole day and not venturing out is well worth the cost.

as far as traveling solo on disney-i would think it would be a great line to do so on. we've been on 3 disney cruises and staff, accommodations and passengers are so great you'de never have an issue finding someone to dine or chat with. and since even their most basic cabins outshine any other line i've been on so far-it's not like cutting costs by booking the lowest category would make you feel you are sacrificing (they provide the same outstanding service and comfort to all passengers-regardless of the category of their stateroom). an added advantage is the cruise meets board here on the dis-you can get on a thread with people who will be traveling with you on the same cruise and even arrange to go with other people you're allready 'aquainted with' on excursions. that has been a real enhancement to our disney cruising experiences-we've met some awsome people on the dis cruise meet boards ranging from families to couples as well as single travelers (in fact we have a group we traveled with last year that are looking at doing a non disney cruise together in fall 2007).

boy I though you were posting about the firework cruises.. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :happytv:

we (me and mother) once went on the worst cruise - so I don't know if I will ever do another one - including Disney.

but I would use both DVC points and cash.

oh i forgot someone of the cruise line send me this website - it has some great values if you can travel last minute

I haven't tried it yet - but boy it is tempting....

I just booked a back to back cruise on Carnival Liberty for September 2007.
Going for 13 days all by myself.
I got a category 1A cabin and got a fantastic price on the cruises.
Some of the category 1A cabins have portholes or picture windows but they still sell them as inside cabins.
I'm paying $1350 for the 13 days which is what it would be if there were 2 poeple. You probably won't find many single bargains if you travel during peak times though.
Hope you have a good time wherever you cruise!! :bounce:
