Anyone Going March 2009??

Hey Disneylvr,
We are from St. Louis, too and will be there March 14-21st, too! We'll be staying at Saratoga Springs. This will be our first spring break trip, so I'm hoping the crowds will be manageable. Wow! Those flight prices, though!!!:scared1: We paid 4 times what we normally paid for Southwest flights!

I know the feeling...there are 4 of us now, so we will be driving. We will be there the week after you, and I am hoping that the reason they are giving all these deals to get people in the parks, so maybe it won't be that bad. :confused3 Only time will tell.

Cheryl,
We seriously considered driving this year, which I can't believe. Now I wish we would have. But some friends are going with us, and they had frequent flyers miles to use on their flights. I should have just told them we would meet them at the airport on Saturday and just leave a day earlier and drive down. But it's too late now; I went ahead and booked the flights the same day the fares opened up.:headache:
I'm really nervous about the crowds now that they have started these special deals! We've never travelled during spring break before and we always go during slower times of the year. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.:confused3

Driving will work for us, not only for cost, but on the way home we are going to stop in DC and look at the momuments with the kids....that's of course if there is no snow on the ground.

We are surprising our boys with a WDW trip in March (sorry Santa is suprising them)!! We leave Feb. 28th and will be there until March 7th. I am super excited. We are staying at POP again.

We went March 2008 the same week and it was wonderful. Low crowds, and wonderful weather.

Our daughter is special needs so we prefer to fly AA since they have assigned seats.....but right now airfare is $779!!!! We might be driving instead.

Edited to add it is down to $682 but still too high for us to buy.

I'm going to Pop from 3/13-3/20 for a birthday & spring break trip! This is my second trip to the world and I'm soo excited! :)

We'll be at CSR March 14 - 21st to celebrate my DD's 15th B'day. I'm checking airfare daily to see when it comes down a lot. Right now the airfare is higher than our resort stay. :headache:

The high price of airfare sucks. We booked our flight at $500 a person round trip and somehow got first class for part of it? It's weird. But, we're three poor college students who love disney and food...we're going with the dxdp. I can't wait!

The deluxe dining will def be worth it. I'm so looking forward to eating all day long! I usually buy airfare about 2 months out. If it doesn't drop by then I'll have to start talking my DH into driving 12 hours.

The food is going to be amazing. :lovestruc We booked early because we wanted to get the best arrival/departure times. We definitely didn't want to take the full day drive from texas to florida for we only have a week off for a week long trip.

I agree. We really don't want to drive. We all get on each others nerves being that close for that long.:rolleyes1 . I'm amazed about the ADR's though. I just changed more ressies and still got the times I wanted. I hope that means lower crowds than expected.

Oh, and BTW, Welcome to the Dis and you're going to love Pop. It's a fun resort!

Driving would be a hassle.

I'm also amazed with the ADR's. We just booked last week and we were able to get every ADR we wanted, even CRT for lunch. I thought that would have booked up really fast. And I do hope that means crowds won't be too bad. I went this past (mid) August with family and I thought it wasn't too bad. Do you know how March compares?:confused3

Thanks, I've been a lurker ever since summer. Pop looks like so much fun.

I haven't made any ARDs yet! This gives me hope though. I will have to get started!

I have been during the first week in March for the last two years. It really hasn't been bad at all. The average wait we had was 15-20 minutes. We tend to use Fastpass a lot though. Some rides, like Soarin', had long long waits, and always ran out of FPs. But I suppose that's always expected. We didn't have many ARDs, but still managed to get in to eat without too long of a wait.

But, during those trips the parks were open much later than they are this year. I don't know what changed it. Some nights the parks closed at 11, and even at 2 am with EMH in the evening. I think it really helped cut down on waits. Oh well. :confused3

Hope this helped!

Thanks.

I was hoping that March would be a decent time to go; it's the only break I get from school until summer. If it is comparable to August I think it would be totally doable. I'm almost happy the parks are closing earlier though; I was so exhausted after our last trip! But yeah, can't wait! I love the fast pass system and use it all the time. We're on the DxDDP and that will probably take out some of our park time. Oh well.

we'll also be there March 14-21, staying at pop. Luckily my husband and I have the same week of spring break even though we go to different colleges. Hoping for airfare to drop, would love to fly Air Tran again since it was so convenient last time.

Were going March 17-March 25 staying at pop! Me and DBFF!!!

We went last year in march around this time and it was crowed but that was because it was also easter weekend and this year easter is in April so it shouldn't be as busy. We went another time in march about 5 years ago and it was not crowed at all!

We are going from March 24 to March 31 and staying in CR MK Tower View :woohoo: . We were originally going to stay at POR (actually had it booked) until last night my DH and I decided that we would much rather be in one of the monorail resorts during this busy time so we can have the convience of more than one transportation option since we are solely relying on the Disney transportation service....I know they have the ferry to DTD, but we don't spend a ton of time there.

We finally got a decent airfare yesterday, of $199 round trip. I am am so glad we are now flying instead of driving. I noticed that today it bounced back up to $299 round trip.
