What is this time-frame like?

What is Memorial Day like? Is there a "good" park to go to? We are thinking of splitting our day between
AK - b/c it's so spread out and we can FP almost everything we want to do there &
MGM b/c it has more shows that we want to see and can FP Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster a lot

We also want to spend our last day in MK, but it's a Saturday AND GayDays weekend. Is this a HUGE mistake?

Also, does anyone know if Carousel of Progress will be open then? It's our FAVORITE ride and it hasn't been open in years (during the time we go). Anyone know?

What do you guys think of these plans? Thanks for your help! :)

 = thinking of Splash Mountain
:sunny: = thinking of the Florida sun
 = wishing you guys a magical day!

We're going 5/23 - 5/30, so we'll be gone before 6/1, but I am interested in crowds during this time. We've always gone in "really" off season! Will be interesting to see what kind of responses you get (that I will benefit from too!!) :wave2:

We are checkin in on Memorial Day.. did so last year too. We are staying at WDW until the 8th..then going on to Vero.

It really isn't bad at all. The later in June it gets the more crowded, but other than that we think it is a great time.

The weekends are the worst at the MK. In the past years so many things have been short waits or walk-ons. We used fast pass for the most popular attractions only.

If you want to avoid huge crowds on Memorial Day, don't go to the Magic Kingdom. I've been going that week for 14 years and it gets pretty crowded there that day.

The weekend of June 4/5 is also Star Wars Weekend at MGM, so that park is liable to be very crowded then. We'll be there from June 3 - 11. Gay days don't bother me, I just hope it doesn't make the parks too crowded.

I'd like to go after daughter is out of school but I'm sure everyone else want to go then too. Week of 6/18 - 6/25 would be perfect for us.
We'll see haven't decided yet.

I am hoping that it is not too crowded. we are going to be there for 8 glorious days before a cruise. cant wait!!!

:cool1:  :cool1:

we have gone in June for the last two years - if you your time well it isn't too much of a problem - as someone mentioned the later you go into June the larger the crowds - I did a poll a long time ago and I also researched school year ends... Florida will be out in May... so that will kick crowds up... but not like the onslaught that hits after the 15th to 28th of June - Between the 15th and the 28th the entire east coast gets out of school. Also, I have avoided weekends... so I don't know what WDW weekends are like - Normally we will do discovery cove for the weekends because it is limited admission and never crowded by design.

but the sooner in JUne you go the better -
