Anyone going in August?

We're not going to Florida until August 2005, however I am pricing up how feasible it would be to DIY our trip.

I'm trying to price everything up based on this years prices to give me a rough idea of how much everything will be when the flights are released.

I would have to be able to get flights under £1700 to make it worthwhile. We'll be flying from Manchester (or liverpool is a possibility) 2 adults, 2 children going for 3 weeks anytime in August.

If people are willing to tell me how much they paid for their airfare it would be very helpful (and which airline and where they booked too please!)

TIA

Hi
We are going during the summer holidays (18th July- 8th August). Unfortunatley this is the most expensive time but we have no other option. Our flights have cost us £654 each adult. Our children are over 12 so we have to pay adult price for them. We are flying with Delta airlines via Atlanta.

Don't know if this helps.

Hi, thanks for replying. I know that I can get a package deal where the flights work out at around £2100 with transfers etc thrown in. So I'm just trying to see if there are any cheap flights out there if you look early enough.

Hi, we are going this August (04) and Next August (05). We have for the last couple of trips booked everything DIY, as we then get exactly what we want, can't say that you get it a whole lot cheaper but its our holiday, the way we want it. Our costs this year for 3 weeks in August are as follows:-

Flights - Virgin PE Adult £1127 and child £815 (W

sORRY HIT THE WRONG KEY BEFORE i HAD FINISHED.....

We are spoiling ourselves with the flights, and putting some of DH redundancy money to good use.. don't think we will be next year though

Villa (4 beds) 3 weeks @ £500 a week

8 seater minivan for 22 days £622

we are buying AP's as we are going for 2, 3 week holidays this works out cheaper

Hope this helps

thanks for your replies. I am fast realising that it may not be any cheaper, but we will be able to do exactly what we want. I guess I just keep searching the internet for those August flights and buy as soon as I see a half decent price!

Thank goodness for these boards I'd be lost without them. I don't suppose anyone knows how you buy annual passes do they????

Hi DisCharmed

We got our AP's direct from Disney, maybe you can get them elsewhere cheaper but I couldn't find anywhere.

We are hopefully going in August 2005 and I have had to resign myself to paying at least £2K on flights (for 2 adults & 2 children) but I think the thing to do is book as soon as flights become available (unless you are happy to do it nearer the time and be very flexible and grab a last minute deal. Personally I couldn't sleep at night if I did this though!)

Sites like www.expedia.co.uk and www.airline-network.co.uk/ have pretty reasonable flights especially if you don't mind going indirect.

If you want to book scheduled flights, you can only do so 333 days out, which would mean sometime in September this year, depending on when in August, 2005 you want to go. We have found that there are cheaper prices to be had by phoning around as soon as possible within this window. We are going in July this year, Virgin Premium Economy, for £680 each, which I suspect is less than some people have paid for Economy.
