Anyone going Feb 3-12,2006?

This is the first time I've gone this early in Feb - any ideas how cold it will be? It's gotta be better than NJ!

I'll be heading down on the 10th.

As far as the weather, we were there at the end of Feb in 2004 for 10 days. For the first 7 days it was downright freezing, one day, it was unbearable to be outside. The last 3 days, it was really hot!

I guess my best advice, pack for all seasons. :sunny: :cold: :umbrella:

We were there at that time this year. The crowd levels were lower so we didn't often wait. You picked a good time to go.

We swam during the days at least three times. One or two of our days I would call "hot." We also rented water mice, which was very doable with the weather. I wore a sleeveless shirt a couple days but was also comfortable in capri pants. During the nights when the sun set, it got cold. Mind you, I am from the Midwest, so I know cold. Also consider that I get cold relatively fast and easy so take that into consideration. Our last night at the fireworks, I wore an undershirt, sweatshirt and layered on a fleece jacket. My advice...wear layers or store layers in a locker and pack for all forms of weather.

Have fun!

We'll be at Fort Wilderness Jan28-Feb11, and we were there the same time frame last year. We had great luck with weather, and it was really warm almost every day (high 70's, low 80's). We wore shorts, and had only one day we wore long pants and sleeves. We also only had about 2 hours of rain. It cools off quick, so like other posters said, bring something warm if you are staying out later. We brought a little bit of everything (including winter coats and mittens for the drive down) and will do so again. We have been at this time of year 3 times, and every time we joke that only the Canadians are wearing shorts no matter the weather and the locals are wearing parkas! It's all a matter of perspective I guess - anything above freezing is a bonus for me in the middle of winter!

That is a GREAT time to go! You will have a blast.

When we have done that week, we have been able to ride up front in the monorails over & over again. My kids just got such a kick out of that - anytime we asked, it happened. The lines for everything are minimal.

The weather is on the cooler side, though - not a bad thing! We have never swam/swum (whatever) during our winter breaks. Too cool for us. You will probably need a jacket or polarfleece sweatshirt in the evenings with jeans, but during the day it could be shorts weather. Be prepared for ALL temps. I have actually been there and had to wear my down winter jacket at night.

If I didn't have a highschooler I would definitely be at WDW in early Feb! It is just one of the best times to go. :flower:

Have a fabulous time!

and can't wait. This is an early b-day trip for DD who will turn 5 on Feb 15th.

We were there 2/2 thru 2/8 this past Feb. In the morning it was cool, mittens were worn! We are from Michigan so we know what cold is!! The crowds should be good at that time. Last Feb. it was Daytona 500, Mardi Gras, and I think Super Bowl going on around the same weekend!! This year we do not have to worry about anuthing. We are going 2/8 thru 2/15, but I wish I would have to complain about the Mardi Gras crowd this year!!! The people from New Orleans that were escaping mardi gras last year were fun to be around!!! The weather will change from day to day and just plan on that! Bring everything from shorts and tshirts to jeans and sweatshirts and mittens. oops, and rain ponchos! :flower:
