Anyone going 9 Dec? What's happening that day?

we were there last year at this same time frame it's the Pop Warner people. When we arrived on that Saturday our DME driver told us we were lucky in that we were going the right direction that 30,000 people we checking out that day and even more the next day. OMG we checked in at ASMo and the airline check in was CRAZY busy while the resort check in was walk up we got there before noon. Our resort seemed to have many of the Pop Warner folks from Alaska that were staying until Sunday. After that though the crowd level was awesome!!!! Keep trying plans change.

We have ADR's for 1900 parkfare at 5p, if we leave MK for these do you think it'll so busy that we won't be able to get back in? We aren't staying on property, so I know if they are at capacity we will be the first to not be let back in.

We are going Nov 30-Dec 11. Not part of a group --- just a family trip. Dec 3 - Dec 9 is Pop Warner week -- a high school football and cheerleading event. From what I have read, they are pretty busy during the week so it does not have as big an effect on the parks as it does on the resorts. The group and their families stay at the values and spill over into the moderates once the values are filled. I believe there are other conventions scheduled that week as well -- Mousefest for one.
The parade taping is the first weekend in Dec, not the second.

Thanks for that information, the cheerleaders and their families, I think, would explain the values and mods being booked. I've been there during a Pop Warner week before and, except for quite a bit of in lines and everywhere else and a lot of drama, it wasn't unbearable in the parks crowdwise.

We'll be at CBR Dec. 8th - 12th and then the Poly 12th - 16th. We're planning on doing AK on the 9th as we'll be pretty pooped from the drive down. From what I've seen a lot of DISers are going that week too!
